The hiking above Mii Dera temple was amazing. A lot of hiking options for outdoor enthusiasts. The Mii Dera temple is also not crowded and a joy to stroll around 20 minutes walk from hotel koo.

It's not bad, but I don't think it's worth the price.

It was a family birthday outing around Otsu, so I wanted to stay with the three of us and only had a smoking room or twin room available for the three of us, and if it was a twin room I had to hold down two rooms, so I was actually thinking of staying at a famous hotel, but I tried to book this one. The difference in price was about 10,000 yen.
I thought the furniture and the bath felt good and the word of mouth was good, so I was looking forward to it. In fact, after staying at a locksmith shop, the furniture wasn't bad, but I was a little sad that the upstairs room was strangely bleak. Also, there is a cooler because it is the change of seasons, but it is too cold for a cooler, so there is no ceiling fan, blanket, or anything that can regulate the temperature, so I thought it would be nice to have something like that. It feels even better if the staff is not available after 21:00. A normal hotel has someone at the front desk.
Paper items such as kitchen paper, wet wipes and wipes. There's nothing to wipe the dishes and nothing to wipe your hands of. There's disinfectant and tissues even if you want to wipe the table. It was like that. The pan says "no dishwasher" and there's nothing to wipe. I thought so.
I would have liked to have at least two face towels for each person. I thought it would not work in winter because there is no humidifier again.
The bath is also made in a cypress style, but I was a little disappointed because it is not a cypress bath. Maybe a bath with a little more wood warmth? I was thinking, so... I was deceived there. Showers and hot water were good.
I also wished there was laundry facilities somewhere. There's nothing that you can hang out in a typical hotel, so what do you do if you want to get dressed on the first floor because you're on the second floor? I thought so.
There are no sweets, snacks, or coffee machines available to rent, so it's a differentiator? Differentiation. Maybe it was, but it was a little lonely. I also felt that the coffee didn't have any milk portion, so it wasn't quite there.
There were various service drinks and wine in the fridge, and I couldn't drink, but I was happy with the drink service. I felt it was kind to have two bottles of water for each person. I only have trays of ice with small ice and I would like to at least have block ice in them. I have a wine cooler, but I don't have ice, so I wonder if you know how to use one. I thought so.
I think it's better to have cheese and nuts as wine nibbles.
I'm learning to cook,
I don't think I'd bother cooking much if I came to stay. We don't have a rice cooker, so I wonder what we'll do with rice. Do you only make nibbles or buy meat and grill it? I thought so.
Breakfast was a bit thin, and I thought the side dish was not like breakfast.
I wanted something I was used to eating, like grilled fish, omelet, yogurt, miso soup. After that, I couldn't drain the water and the taste was blurred. I would like to see the chawanmushi steamed a little more seasoned and steamed. I thought the quantities might be different.
Ohmi beef boiled in shigure tastes salty.
I think it would be better to think of a menu or seasoning that would please the customers once again.
Even though I could stay in a house for more than half a day overall, I felt a little underdeveloped, and I thought the price was bullish and expensive for it.
I'd like a few more books and other readings in the empty space upstairs, and the iPad doesn't have any video apps installed, so it's more like research than fun. If you have an icon for staff, and you have an icon like that, is it OK for customers to use it? I think they will hesitate to do so. I thought it would be difficult for female guests to use because the position of the back microwave oven is high.
Both sides of the house are ordinary private houses, so we usually hear children's voices. It's not that I don't like children's voices, but if they want to go to bed slowly, they definitely wake me up.
It's cute, but I was a little surprised.
Amenities are neither possible nor impossible, towels are fluffy, toilets are beautiful. Balmuda and hair dryers are also good.
Only the toothbrush is so thin it's hard to tell. There are no facial cleansers or bath salts, so you need to bring your own. Bottle with slightly poor foaming of shampoos. Don't roll the carry. (They say Carrie would damage the floor.)
Slightly lower ceiling (beware taller ones)
Although there are such things, it was a good experience to spend slowly without entering the water with my family.
I'm sure what you want from a hotel stay.
I really don't want to do anything. If you just want to sleep, I think this is not the place for you.
I washed the dishes more than I did during a normal hotel stay. I want them to be disposable.
Later, I would probably go to another place for breakfast this time. It feels a little high for the quality. I enjoy the experience of trying to be a citizen of Otsu for a day, but if that's the case, you have to come in the evening.
Check-in time is from 16:00, so please check-in
Considering the cost, I think it would be good if they put it in a little earlier.
I want them to work a little harder and make sure it's worth the price.

I stayed at the Chaya house which was absolutely stunning. The staff were incredibly friendly and a joy to speak with. Otsu is a smaller quiet town with lots of character and friendly residents. I highly recommend checking out the local Izakayas and cafes for an equally excellent experience.

An incredibly well designed hotel! It's modern and yet full of history of Otsu. Certainly a hidden gem. The staff is welcoming and helpful. Not to be missed is their guided tour by the hotel staff. We love hearing the stories and the neighbourhood eating places are simply amazing!! We'll surely come back again. Thanks for making our stay a truly memorable one.
