Authentic great experience
We had an amazing visit to this hotel for 4 nights. The owner/host really goes out of his way for you and is incredibly detailed with accommodations and service. He frequently checked in on us via WhatsApp throughout our stay to ensure we had everything we needed. He even personally drove us to the train station on day of checkout and helped with our luggage! We had several interesting artifacts in our room as well that they gave explanations on when we checked in. A one of a kind place!!

Best place to stay in Osaka
I have stayed in several places in Japan and this place is heads and shoulders above everywhere else. Ozaki the host is like your own personal Jeeves. He will try and help with anything. He organised a taxi pick up from the airport, gave us an amazing Samurai photo shoot ( which was so much fun), left snacks and gorgeous gifts for every guest and when one of my party left their earpods behind, contacted us immediately and then had them couriered to our next destination. Star!! If you are going to Osaka stay here, one of the best and most fun places I have ever been to.

This isn't just a hotel, its an excellent experience!
don’t know how to begin to express how amazing this place was. The hosts, Ozaki and Kumiko (plus their family), are by far the most generous hosts I’ve ever experienced. They go above and beyond excellent customer service and go out of their way to be helpful ambassadors to Japan, even when you aren’t staying in their hotel yet. If you happen to be traveling with children this is a must stay location for Osaka; the hosts are seasoned travelers with their own children … meaning they know leaving things in the room like fun games/snacks/streaming channels/cool crafts are an immense blessing to parents and kids alike. The photo shoot opportunity they kindly offered was a really fun group activity that created a beautiful picture memory we will cherish.
Even if you leave all that out, this is a great place. The gorgeous design makes every corner or the room a stunning backdrop. Every part of the room was extremely clean and beautiful. Having a washer/dryer and kitchenette was so convenient. The tatami room with the heated floor table was so cozy after being out all day in the cold. And the size! By far the largest set of rooms I’ve stayed at in all of Japan. Strongest wifi I experienced on the whole trip. The location is great too: around the corner from multiple restaurants and train station entrances for easy access. It’s in quieter part of the city at night great for sleeping but only a few stops from Shin-Osaka Station, 2 stops on the metro to Dontonbori to the south, 2 stops to Osaka Castle to the east, and 30min on public transportation to Universal Studios. Lots of combinis within walking distance.
I traveled here with my 10 year old and a friend who literally has been traveling constantly around the world for the past 7 years. We all agreed that Osaka Ukiyoe Ryokan has been our favorite place ever. Already dreaming of coming back!

Absolutely stunning and comfortable - a dream stay.
I'm trying not to go overboard on my review. To say we loved it would be an understatement.
Ozaki-San was kind, attentive, and helpful from the moment we booked until the day after we left. He was invaluable with information on the area, what to see, where to eat, etc. He was willing to make reservations for us where we needed them.
The ryokan itself is on a quiet side street a short walk from Hommachi station. You are greeted by many happy lucky cats as you open the door. There is an elevator if you need one.
Each "room" is an entire floor. Two of the rooms have western-style beds. Four have futons, which makes it a great opportunity to try sleeping on one if you'd like. If you find it a little hard, Ozaki-san is more than willing to provide extra futons for more cushioning.
I couldn't believe it when we were given a tour. The "room" just kept going.
You walk in and there's the room with four beds, made up beautifully. The artwork on the walls is stunning, and there are beautiful shoji screens covering the windows.
Behind white shoji screens there is a room with tatami mats containing a low table and cushions, traditional instruments, a stunning iro-uchikake, a tv with various channels, cabinets, and a closet with many blankets and extra quilts.
Leading off this room is a kitchen with fridge and freezer, microwave, sink, and kitchen supplies (cutlery, mugs, glasses etc).
A second door off the tatami mat room leads to a spacious bathroom with *stunning* sink, a washing/drying machine, a drying rack, a beautiful cabinet, and a basket with towels, dressing gowns, and toothbrush/toothpaste. Two rooms lead off the bathroom: one with a toilet, one with a shower and bath. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided.
There is an air purifier and and excellent air conditioning in the apartment. The rooms are spotlessly clean. The beds are incredibly comfortable. The washer/dryer worked so well. If you don't speak Japanese, take note of how to use it when you are shown. Be aware one cycle takes about 3 1/2 hours. The clothes were perfectly clean and dry after we used it. The door to the apartment has an easy to use keypad, and we were also provided a physical key.
I have to look really hard for anything contrary to say about it. I suppose the lighting? If you are someone who needs bright light in order to put on make-up, you will find it difficult in this ryokan as it is softly lit. Other than that I can't think of anything. It's pretty much perfect.
Ozaki-San is a kind and generous host. You have the opportunity for a photo session with a samurai helmet and two absolutely *stunning* iro-uchikake. We did not have the time as we were only in Osaka one day, and I'm sad about that. However, Ozaki left them for me to try on even though we could not have a photo session.
There are many little gifts for you: wooden sake cups, lucky cats to colour, treats for children, etc etc. You are made to feel so welcome and at home.
Overall, I cannot recommend this ryokan highly enough. It was absolutely lovely. I hope I have the opportunity to go back one day. I have traveled through many countries in the world, and this was one of my most favourite stays.

Impeccable Ryokan
Ozaki was the most generous and gracious host we have ever had.
From the first contact, to the follow up after our trip, his service was impeccable.
The ryokan was new and very clean. It had everything we needed. It is within minutes walking to Hommachi Metro Station and convenience stores. There are lots of restaurants nearby.
Ozaki was so generous with gifts he left for us and especially the children.
There is a lift , that is very handy if you have luggage.
