We stayed one night in the Royal Suite with its own hotspring bathtub in the room. Didn’t realize it at the time of booking but it comes with the best dining seating location which gives the best view of the lush and tranquil garden, free private hot springs downstairs, and a huge suite room. Kaiseki dinner was just exquisite and delicious as well as the breakfast next morning. Almost like a fine dining experience. I tried the all the hotsprings available at the property: one in the suite, the private one that’s locked up (free if you get the suite), and the public bath one. We were very glad we paid the extra money to get the Royal suite as both the private springs and the tub in the room get a very nice view of the bubbling river with lush mountain in the backdrop. Highly recommended and we will be coming back when we visit Fukuoka again. We rented a car and it was a breeze and took only one hour. Located in a very sleepy quaint town called Saga.

Thank you very much

We stayed here to celebrate my father's 90th birthday. We had stayed here twice before, and the service, food, and location were all so wonderful that we decided to always stay here on family anniversaries. This time we used the Crane's Return plan, and we were especially grateful to the person in charge of video footage, who was so kind to us. If the hotel becomes more popular, we may not be able to stay here as easily as before, but we are so grateful that we decided to post a review.

Hot spring on sand

I didn’t overnight, but just used their bath (about $10). As I went, there was no other customer, and I enjoyed bathing. The water is temperate, or rather tepid. But it is real mineral spring water. The bed of bathtub is sand, which is very rare in Japan.
