Should have rate it higher than 5

The hotel is located within walking distance from Saijo station.
There are convenient stores near the station.
The front desk staff are extremely friendly and helpful, especially Mr.伊藤　and Ms.越智.
The room far spacious than traditional Japanese room, considered I was a solo traveler, and the price was certainly affordable.
There's an attached toilet in the room. Public hot bath is located at ground floor, so as a room with massage for relaxation.
The breakfast taste was great too.
The hotel offered extremely good services, great facilities and good value for money.

My third stay

I stay at Extol Inn every time I visit my family in Saijyo, I always enjoy their delicious complimentary breakfast that changes daily. The buy produce from the local farmers and make everything in the kitchen. This city is famous for their "Uchimizu" (water that bubbles out of the ground) and it is available for you to drink in the reception area 24 hours a day along with coffee and tea. Onsen (hot tub) is always clean and "Uchimizu" is also available here. It's only about an hour away from Dougo Onsen in Matsuyama from here and it makes this hotel an ideal place to stay.

Great Stay at an Excellent Price

Very clean and basic hotel. The Japanese room (with no TV) was totally fine. Stayed here on our way to Matsuyama. For the budget price, large clean room, public bathing area, and buffet breakfast, it was an excellent bargain.
Small quaint town with some tasty local shops where we had dinner.

The famous Kazura-Bashi Bridge is worth a visit-

The new Hotel Extol Inn is located within walking distance from the train station. The rooms are well furnished and large. Buffet breakfast is served European or Japanese style. Iso Saijo is a convenient starting point for the climb to Mt. Ishizuchi, thr highest mountain on Shikoku.

Excellent service -- (free) laundry service, in particular!

If you're like us and watched the piece on Mt. Ishizuchi on NHK Global and decided to hike it, you will no doubt appreciate the free laundry service this hotel offers. There are multiple washing machines/dryers, just like a regular laundromat -- but they're offered free of charge (yes, the detergent, too)! It was WONDERFUL that we got to wash our sweaty hiking clothes immediately after our hike.
There are some things that the hotel can definitely improve. For example, it could use some new carpet and get rid of the humongous contraption installed in the bathroom, which it calls a "hair dryer." But the hotel more than makes up for them with its GREAT service. Breakfast may not have as many options as some other hotels, but it's definitely YUMMY (save room for curry)!!!
During our week-long trip, we stayed at many different hotels, luxury and otherwise, but we had the best experience at this one. We will definitely be back!
