Best location, near the transportation for the islands

It was an excellent place to stay, the breakfast was great, the location was extremely beneficial for us, so close to the transportation for the islands. The accommodations and the services were also great. It was a great cost-benefit deal. The only thing that might feel a little awkward for some people is that, although there is one for each room, the bathrooms are located at the end of the corridor, outside the rooms, so, sometimes you might find other people from the other rooms going, or getting out to their respective bathroom.

Kindness and Warming welcome

Our stay at UNO Port Inn was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan.
Max and Momo were absolute superstars. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel genuinely welcome and went above and beyond to make our stay special. Their kindness, local recommendations, and warm hospitality made a real difference to our experience.
The breakfast was fantastic. The freshly made bagels were absolutely delicious, and the coffee was just as good, the perfect way to start each day before exploring the islands. Even the shower was excellent, with great water pressure after a long day of sightseeing.
For anyone wondering what to expect, don’t overlook UNO Port Inn because it’s a smaller, more modest property. We had just come from a five-star hotel in Hiroshima, yet UNO Port Inn didn’t disappoint in the slightest. What it may lack in luxury, it more than makes up for with comfort, cleanliness, character, and some of the warmest hospitality we experienced anywhere in Japan.
Before we left, Max and Momo took a photo of us. To be honest, I had completely forgotten about it. Two weeks after returning home, we received the photo, and the moment I opened it, it brought back all the incredible memories we made in Uno and Naoshima. It reminded me that Max and Momo weren’t just our hosts. They became part of those memories, and that’s something we’ll carry with us forever. Such a simple, thoughtful gesture brought tears of joy to my eyes. Thank you for giving us not only a wonderful place to stay, but memories that will last a lifetime.

Perfect Base to Explore Art Islands

The highlight of our stay was the wonderful staff - friendly, recommend and book restaurants, very helpful. Breakfast was great. Perfect place as a base to explore each of the islands.

Convenient for sightseeing on Naoshima! Parking available before check-in

From Shiga prefecture, we stayed for one night for sightseeing in Naoshima and Kojima, Kurashiki. I was able to rent a car park just after 8am before check-in, so I got on the ferry of the 8th era. The ferry dock was just across the road, and we enjoyed sightseeing on Naoshima until the evening, when we checked in. The air conditioning was good and I felt at home immediately. I found that the staff, Mr. K., was kind enough to show me around the room and where to eat, and that he cared for his guests, such as taking pictures when they checked out. There are three keys: a room, a toilet shower, and an entrance. The room was a Japanese-style room and I slept on a futon on the tatami mat for the first time in a long time. When I opened the sweeping sash, there was also a private veranda. There are many guests from overseas, so you can feel extraordinary at breakfast. The toilet and shower were nice because they were private and not shared. We also took a morning walk around the port and it was an affordable inn that even seniors like us could satisfy. The day before, I was staying in a car at a roadside station, Miyama, about 10 minutes away. I left my home after dinner and arrived before 12:00 because I was worried about traffic. I was thinking of leaving early in the morning, but arriving during the night gave me a whole day of sightseeing on Naoshima! One thing that caught my attention in the room was that the entrance door to the room opened inward, so the shoes were placed in a small place. It looks like a movie theater-inspired room, so I'd like to stay in another room this time!
