Wonderful stay at the Boardwalk

My husband and I had the pleasure to spend seven nights at the Boardwalk in Gordons Bay during our recent visit to the Western Cape.
We were welcomed by Paula and check in was hassle free. We stayed in apartment 102. The apartment consisted of one bedroom, a bathroom, large open-plan kitchen, dining room and lounge area. The whole apartment was tastefully furnished with a modern kitchen.
Our apartment had a large furnished patio with magnificent views of the harbour.
We enjoyed watching the resident seal swimming and sunbathing in the harbour.
There are several restaurants very close to the Boardwalk. We can highly recommend Krystal restaurant at the Krystal hotel next door for excellent meals and magnificent views. We also had delicious take away meals from Ooskus fisheries and Trawlers which we enjoyed on our balcony.
We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our vacation at the Boardwalk. We felt transported into another world in the amazing harbour setting.

Beautiful apartments with view of the yacht basin to match

One immediately feels the holiday vibe. The apartments are beautifully furbished and spacious with balconies overlooking the yacht basin. Huge plus are the restaurants beneath the apartments, so no having to drive. Antonios is a must visit for superb meals.
Will definitely return. Friends abroad in USA and UK ooh'd and aah'd when I posted pics, which is a good advert not only for The Boardwalk but also for South Africa.

perfect position for tuna fishing trip

The tuna fishing charter boats leave from the slip that is literally next door, so the position of these apartments could not be better.
The apartments were serviced every day and are spacious and well kitted out with everything that you would expect to find.
Great views over the small craft harbour from the balcony and over the bay from the back bedrooms.
I will be staying here every time we go tuna fishing from now on :)

We realised that it was too long since our previous visit

Having returned to The Boardwalk after 11 years, it was such a pleasant experience once again. Even though we had only come for a weekend we enjoyed every minute. The unit is well equipped and super clean; the view from the balcony is lovely, boats, yachts & a few seals in the marina, some people casting lines from the jetty and sunsets worth watching as you sip on something cold. We will be back far sooner than another 11 years.

Nice, but I will not be back soon

Our stay in April 2016 was more or less pleasant. The first 4 days we had no internet in our part of the building as a major fault was found in the hardware after we kept on complaining. The manageress, Paula, was ever so accommodating and offered us another unit with Wi-Fi. We did not want to move as no 102 is furthest away from the restaurants below. - Which is the main reason for not using the Boardwalk again. The persistent noise and movement of restaurants can be tiring and this goes on until late every evening. Sounds from apartments opposite carries very well over the water. We stayed for 7 nights - which might have been to long. I believe this noisiness will not be a problem to younger persons. (We are over 60)
The unit itself was impeccably clean and serviced daily. We had the luxury of clean towels daily as well. The view over the Marina from the balcony is beautiful. We spent many a pleasant hour staring over the sea.
The Restaurant just below us was partially burnt down and renovations was being done with knocking and hammering during the day and most unpleasant paint fumes. I should think that we should have been fore warned about this?
