Absolute PERFECTION

It was an early morning of travel and long drive but the warm and welcoming faces when we arrived made it worth every minute. I've only experience customer service, care, and attention to detail like this one other time and never in another country. The staff are warm, welcoming, and do everything to make you feel at home. The food quality is out of this world for such a remote location and accommodating to preferences on VERY short notice. Nathan our guide did a great job keeping the kids engaged, Patrick our tracker spotted animals from long distances that would blow your mind, and the lodge staff went out of their way to take care of us when relaxing in the afternoon. I absolutely cannot come up with a single complaint. If I had to say one thing, I'd love to see some of the brush in front of the river front patios a little more clear so we could appreciate the animals that came down to drink better. But I wouldn't want to see the natural beauty of this place destroyed. Thank you so much to everyone at Kitara for making this such a memorable trip. I don't want to tell too many about Kitara and see it lose the personal touch. Almost forgot! Beds and rooms better than any luxury 5 star hotel in the US and Europe.

Experience of a lifetime

Wow! My wife and I recently enjoyed an amazing 4 night stay with our two daughters in the beautifully appointed riverside lodges. We were privileged to see many wonderful and in some cases extremely rare animals and birds in their natural environment and had fantastic experiences which will stay with us forever !
Matty was an amazing guide - his encyclopaedic knowledge, his passion for the wildlife and his enthusiasm for the conservation of the environment was incredible, ably supported by Jomo, his highly skilled tracker.  
Elsune, Susan, Pierre, Matt and the rest of the team went out of their way to make our stay everything we’d hoped it would be and much more. 
The beautifully presented and prepared food was delicious for all of us, but a special mention is required for the thought which went into our eldest daughter’s food, who is both celiac and vegetarian. Great care and attention went into all of her dishes and she was delighted with everything which was prepared for her.
We are still buzzing from the helicopter ride over Blyde Canyon - Tian was a great host / pilot and made us feel very at ease, allowing us to sit back and enjoy the stunning views. 
This was our first safari and something which we had been looking forward to for many years and it certainly won’t be our last. The challenge now will be to find somewhere that can match the high standards set by Kitara, unless of course we just return !
Thank you to everyone at Last Word Kitara for making our trip so magical.

Exceptional Game Lodge

Can’t recommend this enough. Spent 4 nights celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. It’s a small lodge with only 6 rooms but the whole team were amazing. The drives were great and luckily we managed to see the top 5 and more which was just the icing on the cake. The food, accommodation and service were exceptional. We felt like we were part of the family. Thank you team wish you all the luck in the future and may even come back for more !

Fabulous Safari

Simply an amazing place, staffed by wonderful people and luxurious accommodation. Fantastic wildlife spotting and extremely knowledgeable and friendly guides and trackers.
