Reasonably clean and secure mid-class hotel near downtown Yaounde.

If you can't afford the best hotels in Cameroon's capital, then Hotel Jouvence is a good choice. Service is friendly, security is good, cleanliness is adequate, the air conditioning actually works, and the food in the restaurant is quite good. Noise is sometimes a problem, but is generally drowned out by the air conditioning. Tip: if you have to stay on a Saturday night, check to see if a wedding party is scheduled. These are usually all night, noisy affairs -- sometimes messy, too. The hotel does have an elevator and a parking garage. The biggest problems are situations beyond the hotel's control, such as drops in the water pressure in that part of the city. The staff does their best to try to cope with these problems. The hotel was just adding WI-FI to the lobby during my last stay, which goes for a low fee. Depending on the exchange rate, a double room is around $45 a night, without breakfast.

It is secure place but this is all that is good about it

Moldy dark rooms with old AC. Noisy on weekends with celebrations and Church service. Very often they are not fast to clean in the morning after parties. It is located not far from a train station but not close to downtown. Look for a different option.

Left as soon as I found another place

Called before arriving and the hotel didn't mention any issues. I asked if there was internet, hot water, AC, etc. everything that is advertised on their website. They assured me there was.
When I got there at 10 PM walked into a room that smelled overwhelming like a toilet, had no running water, and no AC. They did bring in two buckets of water, but didn't have a ladle/cup to use with the buckets so no bathing really possible.
Also, didn't mind the lack of AC, but there was no screen or lock on the window. This would have been fine if there had been a mosquito net, and if there wasn't a shared ledge/balcony with the room next door.
Already wasn't excited about the water situation and smell, and didn't feel great about being in an insecure room by myself, so I left less than an hour after arriving. I was asked to pay 10,000 CFA/$20 USD, or half of the room rate, upon leaving.

This hotel have place to hold wedding ceremony and meeting. During your stay, if wedding ceremony is held you can't sleep cause of its noise. Restaurant is not bad. Room is old and air conditionar is not well mainteined. Wi-fi is not working well. The hotel is suitable for local guest but not suitable for bussiness person who comes from outside of central and west Africa. Maybe the hotel is acceptable for turists.

Per le trasferte di lavoro è un hotel accettabile

Ciao a tutti,
Ho soggiornato in questo hotel per una settimana.
Cosa dire.....gli standard non sono certo quelli internazionali, ma per un periodo di permanenza breve ci si adegua. Le camere sono pulite, il bagno ha la doccia nella vasca e non esiste nemmeno una parvenza di tenda, quindi si allaga tutto.
In compenso il ristorante interno non è così male.
Per me era la Quinta volta a Yaoundé e devo dire che il livello degli hotel per gli stranieri che si recano in Camerun per lavoro è pressoché questo.
Fa eccezione solo Hilton che però chiede circa 440 euro a notte...un po’ tantino.
