Very comfortable castle
I loved my stay in Chicoutimi, especially thanks to the comfort and location of Chateau Cran Chaud. The room and the view were beautiful too.

Relaxation, moment to cherish and beautiful place.
Perfect hotel, very easy with online check-in/check-out. I spent the night before with my wedding procession and the decor was absolutely beautiful for the next morning’s photos. The design is breathtaking.
I had read some comments about the noise, but honestly, it was very quiet. I guess it depends mostly on the respect of the other guests.
We asked that the room be cleaned for our wedding night and no problem: the staff ensured.
A splendid place, especially in the evening with the lighting... just magical. We'll definitely go back.

Such a nice property !
Beautiful room (the mini / economy is small !)
Ensuite new and the whole place so clean. Loved the self access to the property and room - so clever ! Recommend 100%

Unprofessional staff and safety concerns
There is no reception and no staff on site (at least during my stay). They provide a phone number for emergencies, but it took me five calls before someone finally answered (at 5 PM).
When I arrived, the room wasn’t ready. I followed their self check-in instructions only to discover this, which was very frustrating after a long trip. It then took over an hour and several more calls before the situation was (almost) resolved.
The towels provided were dirty, and despite my request, they never gave me a clean set. Even worse, I found someone else’s used t-shirt in my bed sheets — absolutely unacceptable.
On top of that, there is no food available at the hotel. Just ice machines and a Nespresso machine in the common room. No breakfast, not even for an extra charge. The parking lot is poorly lit, and there are no other facilities or restaurants nearby.
I also tried contacting management via email (since they refused to discuss anything by phone), but they never replied.
Overall, very unprofessional management and serious safety concerns. Being left in a hotel with no reception, no staff, no food options, and unanswered emergency calls is not acceptable.

Beautiful heritage stay
Not your typical hotel. If you are looking for something unique and historic then this is a great place to stay. The rooms are in an old presbytery beside the Sacré Coeur church. There is a beautiful private entrance at the front of the church with a private parking lot. It is located right on the Saguenay river, a close walking distance to museums and restaurants. The grounds are kept beautifully. This hotel has an online check in and check out, something that I really liked and found to be convenient. It would be important to note that there is no front desk, nor any room service and room cleaning during your stay. Also there is no elevator so if you get a room like we did on the 3rd floor, you’re carrying your bags up stairs. This was not a problem for us but it could be a surprise for some if the fine print isn’t read. The rooms were extremely clean and perfect in size for just the two of us. The bed was very comfortable and we were lulled to sleep listening to the crickets in the garden with our window open. Such a unique stay, I would recommend it for sure!
