Beautiful, Restful Stay!!

We spent two nights at The inn on Bay, i highly suggest this Bed and Breakfast. The Room, Bed and Decor was so calm and relaxing. This 1920’s home was a beautiful. Jen the host, was very welcoming and served a wonderful breakfast.

The best!

I’ve stayed here several times over the past year. Every room is clean and comfortable and homey. Jen is very accommodating and friendly, and her breakfast is amazing!! It’s so much nicer than staying at a hotel. And less expensive! Great value! Warm welcome!

Average at best

My husband and I were very disappointed to find that the Elmview Suite we had booked didn't have an ensuite bathroom. It had a private bathroom down the hall at the top of the stairs. Not great for seniors in the middle of the night! Our only alternative was the Gateway Ensuite, a dark, damp space located in the back of the parking area. The mattress and bedding were long past their best- before date and the bathroom, on the the far side of a small crowded, entry, kitchen/sitting /pullout couch, would be a challenge to get to if two others were using that pullout.
Also, the bathroom door did not close. The space is in stark contrast to what is offered in the main house and yet it comes with a higher cost.
On a positive note, our friends stayed in the main house and had a very comfortable and pleasant experience. As others have noted, Jen is a warm and pleasant host and our breakfast was excellent.
I emailed Jen the following week re the above. As she hasn't replied I thought it important to let others know to carefully clarify what is meant by ensuite and private baths, and to know that presently the Gateway Ensuite does not compare with the other rooms.

The beautiful Muskoka visit.

We love this beautiful B&B and was our second stay here. The owner, Jen is so kind and her breakfasts were just delicious. Such a comfortable room, The Gateway Suite. This boutique B&B is in the heart of Gravenhurst the perfect location for a visit to the beautiful Muskoka district. We will definitely be back thanks so much Jen

Good Things Come in Small Packages!!!!

Stayed here years ago and from what I remember this accommodation has remained excellent, if not aged even better.
And just remember : this is THE INN ON BAY (STREET)....not on the water. There is some traffic noise on Bay Street but not as much this summer as the road down by THE WHARF is under construction and most of the former through traffic going north has been diverted ....
Everything in the reviews below is totally accurate . Janet prepared breakfast on my Saturday and was a wonderful conversationalist with great suggestions (CURRIE'S MUSIC on the main street is a MUST SEE!!!) Jenn, was wonderful as well, although I did have to leave early Sunday. Both presented a delicious and varied breakfast which started my days off well.
But I just want to revise and add some points to consider for "newbies" and we "oldies". This beautiful property has rooms on the second floor with a staircase so not accessible to mobility challenged clients. There is, however, a unit at the back (The Gateway Suite???) which is for those needing ground-level access. (Best to contact Jenn for complete details...she is VERY communicative!!)
Also at the back is a small private little patio right beside the parking area.
Regarding THE ELMVIEW ROOM: lovely and compact and delicious chocolate coconut nibbles on the night table. A couple of technical problems for me were the very confusing TV system access and the washroom across the hall.
Although modern and beautifully decorated I am not used to walking across the hall to do my chores. Also, the original clawfoot tub is very high and difficult (for myself...and I would suspect other elderly people anyway) to enter and leave. Reserve EARLY if you want your own in-room facilities.
The very comfortable and nicely decorated breakfast areas were pleasant to start the day. Breakfasts were delicious and certainly welcomed with presentations of fruits, yoghurts, egg servings and toasts and English muffins.
