Better than expected
We had a lovely time at this budget hotel. We booked a suite on points and found the dated decor charming. The pool might need a bit if a scrub but it was a fun time. Our room was clean and the bed was comfy. We loved our view! I'm sure there are aspects of this hotel that need some work, but we didnt see anything that made us uncomfortable!

Wasted potential
At a glance this seems like a good hotel. The lobby is beautiful, the rooms are a good size, and it's only a block from the lake. But ended up being the worst hotel experience I've had in a long while.
When checking in I was told that the AC was broken (sounds like had been broken for a while), in a tone that implied that they already informed me (they never did). Instead of offering a discount, they offered a small fan. Thought I could make due with the fan and open windows, but getting to the room I found none of the windows open. Which made for a very hot room which made it very hard to sleep in. I even tried napping in the tub with it full of cool water. But even if the AC had worked, it would have been a tough night. The sheets are old and beaten up, which made them scratchy and uncomfortable.
If they invested in new linins and actually fixed the AC in a timely manner, this would be a good hotel. Until then, best stay away.

We had to stay two nights and left after one since there was no AC with 30 degrees outside and inside the rooms/hotel. We asked for a full refund and not to be charged when we checked out early but the staff still did. When we were in room and complained about it, requesting a full refund and were told they have to get hotels.com to initiate it. We did that and hotels.com said that Casablanca has to issue it. Im still waiting for a full refund with two kids, it was the worst stay of our life. And we travel a lot!

AC broken
AC was broken so you can imagine how hot it was in the room. Unbearable. Could not sleep. We were exhausted in the morning. No one tells you at check in that its broken, until you go up to your room. When I called down and asked about it said she would come up. Said the AC broke last night and its up and running but will take awhile for the room to cool down. Yet she had a fan in her hand. This hotel intentionally fails to tell you that the AC is not working. The room could not cool down by morning? They just want your money. Greed is what it comes down to. Do not stay here.

I was heading to Niagara for a wine festival and booked to staying overnight at the Casablanca. I unfortunately had a multi vehicle high speed accident on the highway. I was badly injured and headed to ER in an ambulance. My husband called to advise them that we would not be now to attend, and to just charge our credit card, and the lovely woman who answered the call AA uses us that she would just cancel the booking with no charge. With such fantastic customer service I will definitely book again.
