Heart vs Head but ultimately disappointed.

Jasper is trying to rebuild itself from the tragic wild fires and so are the businesses. We were told tourists visiting Jasper is 40% down in comparison so it’s tough and the whole community needs the support.
Forest Park Hotel however is misleading. We booked in 2025, reading about the newly amenities due to open in spring with all the works completed by June. Just over two weeks before our stay, we received an email saying that none of the amenities will be open. Rooms only with a 10% discount being offered. Being here, I can tell that this hotel is several months away from being completed and the hotel would have known that a long time again so why the update only a couple of weeks before our stay? Naturally we looked at our options and there is not anything available, all other hotels are fully booked so it’s here or nothing. The hotel offer alternative options which are located in different hotels, the gym is located a good 10 mins walk away. The hotel is still very much a building site, with carpets and skirt board unfinished in many places and several views looking out to construction sites. The rooms are clean and comfortable. From walking around, all the rooms and there’s a lot of them, all seem to be completed and maybe that’s the hotels priority, rather than delivering on what they are stating and customer expectations. Lastly, throughout are stay in Canada, every hotel we have stayed in, we were greeted with warmth and smile. That seems to be the Canadian way, the hospitality has been amazing. At Forest Park Hotel, it’s been anything but, heads barely lift which is a shame.

Refurb works

Room itself was good.
But the building work awful. A hike to get to our room. Up the lost, along the corridors, over 2 bridge walk ways then up a flight of stairs. Building works started outside our room at 0800. Could not keep tje curtains open in case they looked in. Smell.of paint and thinners through the corridors and sawdust and b building works coming in through the air con.No view only workmen out of the window.

Our room was recently renovated and it was beautiful! The property was under construction, but for our short stay, it didn't bother us at all. The vanity mirror is cute, but they could use better lighting in the bathroom.

Great experience

This hotel was super nice. There was construction but it did not interfere with my stay at all and my hotel room was a brand new beautiful room. There were also elk outside when I arrived which was super cool since I am from Kansas! Beds were also so comfy! Loved our stay and will stay again in the future
