Outstanding hotel and casino. Stayed in marina view 1-bedroom suite. Room was spacious and clean - view did not disappoint. Are at Gordon Ramsay’s steakhouse. Food and service were impeccable. We had lunch at the chairman’s boardroom overlooking the river. Great happy hour food and drink specials. Indoor pool and water slide are beautiful and great for kids. Casino was clean and dealers/staff were friendly. We only got to stay one night for a layover on an international flight, but would gladly spend 3-4 days here. It’s a clean, fun and upscale environment with amazing views.

One of the Most Disappointing Travel Experiences We've Ever Had
I don't write negative reviews lightly, but I feel obligated to warn other travelers.
My family stayed at River Rock Casino Resort in Vancouver immediately before departing on an Alaskan cruise that we had planned and saved for over 18 months.
Both of our hotel rooms were paid in full before we arrived. The hotel confirmed in writing that only a $75 incidental deposit would be collected at check-in.
Instead, after we checked in, multiple unexplained credit card authorizations were placed on my accounts, tying up nearly $1,900 USD of my available credit. When we brought the issue to the hotel's attention, we were told it was the result of a combination of "human and system errors." Hotel staff even photographed the authorizations from my phone because they could not locate all of them in their own system.
The hotel provided internal printouts showing some authorization activity, but those records did not reconcile with the transactions appearing on my credit card—even after accounting for Canadian and U.S. currency differences. No one could explain what all of the authorizations represented.
While we were still trying to resolve my situation, we discovered that my sister's prepaid room was also showing additional River Rock transactions that she could not explain. She made no room charges during our stay. These charges exceeded $550+
The most disappointing part was not that an error occurred—it was how it was handled.
The hotel knew we were leaving the next morning for an international cruise. We explained that these authorization holds had tied up our available credit and would affect our ability to enjoy the vacation we had spent 18 months planning. The only solution offered was to wait one to three weeks for the holds to expire naturally.
By the time we boarded our cruise, we were traveling without access to the funds we had budgeted. Our planned excursions were placed at risk, and we were unable to use our credit cards for purchases during our vacation because of a problem the hotel had already acknowledged.
I asked the hotel for a fair resolution. Hotel Manager Stanley Lung offered to refund one night's stay despite the significant impact on our trip. When I explained that I did not believe that offer reasonably addressed the situation, I was told it was final and non-negotiable.
Mistakes happen. What defines a hotel is how it responds when those mistakes have serious consequences for its guests. In our experience, River Rock acknowledged errors but failed to provide a timely solution or meaningful accountability before we left for our cruise.
I sincerely hope no other traveler experiences what our family did.

Unfortunately, it was disappointment.
We stayed at River Rock Casino Resort for one night before our flight home. Based on the impressive entrance, beautiful lobby, and the premium price we paid, we expected a room that matched the hotel’s image. Unfortunately, it was a major disappointment.
I booked through Booking.com, and at the time only a room with two queen beds was available, which was perfectly fine. Upon check-in, we received a room with two queen beds as expected. However, the condition of room 587 was simply unacceptable.
The room was dirty, the TV cabinet doors were loose and damaged, there were stains on multiple pieces of furniture, and much of the furniture looked heavily worn and in need of replacement. It felt neglected and certainly did not reflect the standard that the rest of the hotel presents.
Considering the high nightly rate, this level of maintenance is not acceptable. There is a huge gap between the luxurious appearance of the public areas and the actual condition of the room.
I reported my concerns politely to the front desk at check-out. The staff simply noted my comments but offered no apology, explanation, or solution. That left the impression that this may already be a known issue.
Thankfully, we only stayed for one night. Had we booked a longer stay, we would have checked out early.
This hotel has the potential to be excellent, but room 587 certainly did not live up to the expectations created by the River Rock Casino Resort name.

Everything is good except the sofa bed is not too comfy. Also it's cold in the room and I have a hard time adjusting the thermostat. Wish it's simpler to use

Room need to be refreshed. lighting is also dark. TV channel selections are bad and no access to you tube netflix, etc. Also no way to use a fire on the tv. Hallway carpet needs to be replaced also.
