Some issues but hotel workers hard to resolve. Stunning hotel.
Beautiful hotel. Stunning. Great location. There were some issues but the managers were very keen to resolve. Most of the issues were with other hotel guests who were a disgrace. In the end their customer service was very good albeit the air con needs an overhaul. The hotel itself is a work of art.

Uncomfortable n dated twin rooms
We stayed here for 3 nights on a group tour with friends.
Hotel lobby was impressive with its high ceiling and internal set up.
Unfortunately the rooms are small, dated and uncomfortable.
Suffocating esp as the AC was not working. Unable to change room as it was fully booked. Those with double bed rooms were more spacious. Reception service was poor as they could hardly speak english.
Breakfast was their saving grace with good quality spread and sparkling wine.
Do not stay in a twin bed room.
Hotel lobby was impressive with its high ceiling and internal set up.
Unfortunately the rooms are small, dated and uncomfortable.

A little tired
I stayed here with a tour group. We had a few nights here, I think the hotel is a little tired although my room was comfortable and I had a really great shower. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast and we also had a buffet dinner. Other than that, just another hotel in a big city.

It's been a long time since 5 stars, old-age dirty hotel
1. The condition of the room is terrifying - it is no longer 5 stars, the hotel loses and new 2-3 stars. Dirty, all stained carpeting, old-age dirty tiles on the bathroom floor and emptying, toilet walls, toilet floor floods if you take a shower - all the water pours in. It floods hard. I stayed for three nights, but the first day was so uncomfortable, I didn't even dare to shower. It's a repulsive impression. It's high time we made repairs and didn't embarrass ourselves. Either estimate accommodation at 50 euros maximum. It's not worth it anymore.
2. Staff work itself is ok, but incoherence of services is beyond. I left a deposit, but the lobby bar didn't know it - and even after two, the receptionist kept saying I had no deposit. It wasn't until I went to the front desk myself and asked to settle the matter, call my colleagues, that it was decided. Why leave a deposit if no one at the hotel knows about it? And how can that be in a five-star hotel?
Another example. At the check-out, I was asked to sign a blank form to return the unused deposit amount. Or wait for an employee to go and make sure I didn't use the minibar. Just 10 minutes, I'm told. How can you humiliate your guests like that???
Never again.
This time didn't check out earlier just because the reservation was non-refundable and it was a work trip tied to this hotel. In a different situation, I'd change hotels right away.
3. It is surprising that the hotel continues to live in inertia and nothing is done to bring its condition to the proper level. The potential is beautiful - both the location and the atrium, and the building itself is not bad, and even the mountains from the room can be seen. But apparently, so far there are not many hotels in Almaty, so they exploit what is and do not think it necessary to spend money on repairs - and so will come and pay for this misunderstanding.

Good Hotel - Central Location.
We stayed at Rixors for a week.
Good rooms.
Staff was friendly.
We did have issues with cleanliness in the room.
Food was ok…
Location was probably the main reason for stay at this property.
