Friendly place in great location

The owner of the hostel is really friendly and helpful, helping us book a horse ride excursion. After presenting us with some details, he contacted the company and sorted everything out for us.
Dorms were clean, and WiFi reached our room, although was sometimes spotty. Breakfast was included and was really yummy too. The breakfast included coffee, scrambled eggs/ omelette/ arepa, and some fruit on the side.
If travelling by bus with a large backpack, this hostel is perfect as it is literally opposite the bus station on the edge of Salento. Despite this, there is not any noise from the road and the centre of Salento is only a 5-7 min walk.
The rooms were cheap and definitely worth it!

Good value

Location is dead handy as it’s right across the road from the bus station and a few minutes walk from the main square. Breakfast provided is very nice and the owner is very nice/helpful. There was bugs all over the place but that’s just Salento in general. We loved the dogs and cat running around the hostel too, made our stay that little bit more enjoyable!
Solid option if you’re looking to save money and be within walking distance of everything.

Quiet hostal with beautiful views

Staff (family owners?) at Cattleya Hostal were extremely kind and friendly. Rooms and bathrooms were perfectly clean, towels and blankets were provided, good breakfast included. Lovely areas to sit and look at the views. The hostal is very quiet so a good night's sleep is welcomed! It's located just out of town which is preferred as walking into town is absolutely pleasant looking at the colourful buildings and saying hola to friendly locals. The gentleness and kindness of the family made this hostal!

Good value for money

Me and my fiancé stayed here for 3 nights. We were delayed on the bus coming from Bogota and didn't arrive till 10.30pm and very kindly the owner waited up for us to check us in.
We booked a twin room but was put in our own dorm which was fine as we had our own bathroom.
However on the 2nd night the owner asked if we could move to next door as more people were arriving. We didn't mind as the room next door was a double and own bathroom.
The rooms were clean and all beds were comfy.
For breakfast you get a choice of 4 which includes cereal, scrambled eggs, omelette and other things similar and also good coffee.
Location was only 5/7min walk away from the centre.
The only issues we had was the wifi didn't work at all in the bedroom only outside in the public areas. Also the showers were only warm.
But other than that it was great value for money and having the two cute dogs around was a bonus.

Good stay friendly staff good location

Me and my friend stayed at this hostel and we really liked it. First of all the location is perfect. The guy working at the reception is the nicest guy and wants to help you with all your needs. Breakfast is good, price is good for the room. The only advise I would give is to do something with the smell in the room other then that we had a perfect stay!
