Jungle Serenity & Soul Renewal
Stayed at the lodge for one week and had a beautiful, stress-free experience surrounded by nature, yoga, and adventure. The accommodations were what I’d call “bougie rustic” — comfortable and thoughtfully designed with AC, ceiling fans, open-air showers, and a kitchenette.
Falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle and waking up to monkeys playing in the trees was pure magic. The beautiful green-tiled pool blended perfectly with the natural surroundings and was always sparkling clean, as were all of the accommodations. The food was fresh, healthy, and absolutely fantastic.
While I was not attending a formal retreat, I was fortunate enough to enjoy yoga classes and an incredible floating sound bath meditation experience during my stay, which made the trip even more special.
Most of all, the owners, Kristen & Donavan are truly delightful — kind, genuine, and beautiful people who create such a welcoming atmosphere.
Whether you are looking for a peaceful getaway or hoping to attend an amazing yoga retreat, this is the perfect place to regroup, refresh, reconnect with nature, and recharge your soul.

Say yes to peace!
THE BEST!! clean, organized, respectful, walking distance to small beach to watch the sunrise, up the mountain if you prefer!!! THe owners/operators are more than accommodating. I was here on a yoga retreat that I would recommend to new to the practice people up to the advanced yogi. Monkeys on property, so many birds. The only noise I heard was the noise of the jungle!!

The BEST!
The staff is amazing and bends over backwards to make sure you have the most incredible stay possible! I went with a group of 17 and we kept the crew and kitchen staff on their toes! The food was served mainly “family style” and for a large and diverse group, there were no complaints! We ate a couple times from the delicious menu and everyone raved about what they ordered.
Excursions were arranged for quad bike riding guided by one of the concierges and his partner who took GoPro footage (Thanks, Fede and Edy!) and pack lunches were arranged on short notice when we headed off for a canopy zip lining adventure. (Thanks, Elisa!) The accommodations were lovely and comfortable even in the non-air conditioned cabins. The team arranged for pool-side parties and lounging (drinking) on days we stayed in. They arranged for a masseuse to come in on the last day and I had THE BEST massage of my LIFE (90 minute with lymphatic drainage!) at a very reasonable price!
It was a fantastic experience and I hope to get back there some day!

Group of 18 at Cabuya Lodge
Our group of 18 had a great stay at Cabuya Lodge! Super quaint, rural location near the beach and just 6 miles or 20 minutes south of Montezuma. The yoga experiences were memorable, and all of the food was delicious! Fede, the general manager and all of the staff were awesome. They really did a great job! Anything we needed or wanted and they were on it! In addition to other transportation needs, Fede even arranged for 16 ATV’s to be delivered to the lodge overnight, and then guided on a 7 hour experience to Santa Teresa!

Exactly what Costa Rica should be
I can't imagine a better place to spend time in than Cabuya -- and in Cabuya Lodge specifically. Our hosts were fluent in English and Spanish and were generous beyond measure. Accommodations were clean, comfortable, and convenient. With their connections to other local businesses, we at the yoga retreat had access to myriad activities and the taxis to take us there. Even if one were to remain in Cabuya and not venture to nearby Montezuma, the Lodge's yoga chalet is magical, the massage therapist is gifted, the surrounding area boasts of a nearby beach for exploration and fine cafès within walking distance. While we were there, proprietors Mandy and Johanne were exceptional hosts, with just the right amount of hands-on attention. Even better -- I know that they are committed to the prosperity of local families and they reinvest in the community. Since Cabuya is in the Nicoya Peninsula (a Blue Zone!) the food and its service, really, was a highlight for me. The choices of simple, delicious, local dishes were meaningful. I would return just to have another great meal.
