LESS OF GOOD

The view and location are excellent. With a view of Girne Harbour, it''s within walking distance of the beach, souk, and casinos in the entrance port area. 2. The after-roof rooms offer sea views. I think breakfast is enough. Not the buffet vs, but it’s quite enough for an excursion. If I don’t go out of the hotel the same way I’m eating and drinking at the casino, there are other eligible hotels in the area, but I can say the prices are comparable. If you’re renting a car, there’s free municipal parking behind the nearest entrance castle. We stayed 3 nights, no problem coming at any time. You can get to the hotel within 5 min walk. Overall, the hotel is old. The rooms are old and have hygiene issues. The first room given to us was overlooking the garden of an apartment in the back and then 3. We replaced it with a room on the floor. There was a delightful balcony with big, direct harbor views, but the room was dusty. So it was an uncomfortable sleep experience. There were flies in the bathroom. Overall, hygiene is poor. Room lighting is insufficient. Other than price performance, yes. Especially the employees are very caring. We were pleased with other than hygiene. If renovated, a little maintenance can be preferred if cleanliness is taken care of.

Not having a good time here!

It’s a very small room (#101) with double bed, and the back of elevator takes up part of the room, plus it’s noisy. Not enough space to open both suitcases, and only a few inches for your knees while sitting on the toilet, plus there was hair in the bed and on the floor. Small shower. Granted they were rushed to clean several rooms for our group, but it’s inexcusable. They had no other room to offer us, and it’s too late for us to find something else. It’s noisy in this area, and my silicone earplugs aren’t even helping. If that’s not enough to warn you, the closet door fell off when we opened it. Maybe other rooms are better, but the harbor area is crowded and popular, so unless you’re part of it, bring good earplugs. Find somewhere else with better reviews!

It's all about location...

Booked the last two available rooms at short notice, one for myself and one for my elderly mother. Both were perfectly adequate as a base of operations for enjoying the sights and delights of Girne and visiting North Cyprus generally.
The rooms had the usual: hairdryers, desks, chairs, TV, kettle, and drinks fridge, and the mattresses on the beds were all new. Both rooms had ensuite bathrooms that were perfectly functional. Bedding and towels were changed frequently (more often than needed really) and rooms were cleaned daily. All the staff we met were friendly, helping us book tours, allowing us to practice our terrible Turkish, etc.
Breakfast was typical Turkish fare and made for a healthy start to the day - several different cheeses, olives, bread, jams, and a choice of egg fried, boiled or omelette, fresh fruit, and tea or coffee. We particulary enjoyed looking out over the waking harbour while eating. There's also a rooftop terrace with fantastic views which we visited repeatedly, though sadly the bar was closed this late in the season.
Whether this is the kind of hotel you would enjoy largely depends - I suspect - on your underlying expectations. For some, the hotel itself is the destination, and things going on outside a bonus. And most of the large new, luxury/casino hotels in Girne are in distant, inconvenient locations anyway.
Our priority was to be in the heart of the old town, near the harbour, wedged in among the promenaders, the buzz, and the many different sights and experiences. The hotel was just a place for sleeping, cleaning and organizing excursions. So the lack of luxury facilities and upmarket decor was a trade-off we willingly accepted.

Fantastic stay with a smile

Stayed in the hotel for 2 weeks fantastic time lovely room and excellent staff . Looked after us very well superb breakfast, a special mention to Mehmet the night porter friendly face always smiling and a new friend. Day staff really friendly and helpful. Thank you for great stay .

Nice location, friendly staff but could do with an update

Attentive and friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Rooms are small but comfortable. The hotel in general could do with a little update but functional. The location is right by the harbor. The harbour is currently under significant renovations which is clearly significantly impacting businesses in the area.
