It’s not the ritz. But as far as value for money goes it’s even better

This is the kind of hotel you book for one night simply to rest and get back on the road (or river) the next morning. While the shower is— less preferable, and the stairs are steep, the WiFi is strong (especially on the 3rd floor) and the family owner(s) are nice. As the title implies, value for money is off the charts, especially if this hotel is booked directly and not on a third party, namely the application I write this review on.
Location-wise this hotel also is great. There are a bunch of ATMs and currency exchange booths directly underneath the hotel (making it a great place to exchange currency especially coming from the border of Thailand). It’s safe to say this is a good place to become a millionaire- in Lao Kip, I mean.
If you’re looking for dinner, the restaurant across the street (I don’t know the name) has a long yellow sign saying fried rice and noodles. It’s a great restaurant, especially the stir fried bamboo with meat.
And one last thing- if you need to book a trip, whether that is a slow boat or minivan tour, do it directly with the hotel, they will give you much cheaper prices for the same quality you’ll find at other tour operators.

Modest but central

The owners are very kind and help you as they can. The hotel is very simple, it has steep stairs to reach the rooms that are small with curtains not too clean, in general it is a bit poor but the air conditioning works well and also the shower water. One night is enough and it is convenient to reach the ship to the Mekong. Our room 210 also had a small refrigerator. At breakfast they give you, you coffee bread butter and jam and bananas.

Good address

The hosts are very nice.
The owner can book tickets for the slow boat and have very good seats
Organize a taxi to get to the slow boat
Coffee and bananas served in the morning
Large room and hot water

Good Place to Stop for the Night

Great location in the heart of the town, surrounded by lots of places to while away the time waiting to board your slow boat to Luang Prabang.
Clean comfortable bed.
Extremly good value for money, if you just need a bed for the night.
We had a room at the front of the building, which provided us with an excellent viewpoint for the alms-giving ceremony in the morning. We were woken by the beautiful sound of the monks chanting under our window.
