A warm welcome in a beautiful setting
We will keep this wonderful memory of the staff of Zara Village for a long time. Joel, the manager is an angel who made our stay a great one. He and his colleague were extremely attentive to our comfort, very attentive and very kind. All the staff offered us a warm Welcoming and the meals were excellent, thank you chef (the best pancakes we ever ate!)!
As for the rooms, they are very basic but the fact that they are spacious brings a feeling of comfort. Unfortunately, they still need maintenance: dirty walls, stained tiles and skirting boards etc. However, you really need to change the bathrooms!
In general, the setting is very beautiful, bungalows in a green garden (a too cute microcebe welcomed us on arrival), with a heavenly view and at the entrance to Lokobe Park.
PS: watch out for dirty deckchairs and pool towels.
We remain mixed regarding the excursions offered. They are the same price as agencies and other hotels but the Service Quality is much lower. Mixed because the so-called guides we had were really friendly and try to make a living but the service is not worth its price and we felt deceived by the lack of transparency (for example the guides do not speak French...). However, we had a wonderful 2.5-hour walk commented in Malagasy by Jean-Christophe, the gardener (we knew in advance this time that it was not a guide), which some of us Malagasy could translate to the rest of the group. An immersion in the history of the region through its myths and legends.
Notable positive point: we were able to pay for our stay by bank transfer to a French account, free of charge. Which made our life easier by avoiding walking around with big bundles of Ariary or paying a card payment fee.
We could consider coming back for one night, for the setting and calm and to come and say hello to Joel and his team!

Exceptional!
Incredible place and far from everything! Hélène organized everything remotely and answered all our requests. The guide to Lokobe and lunch on the beach were perfect!
The view, tranquility allow total disconnection (but not too much thanks to WiFi....)

An exceptional place far from the world
A unique experience in an idyllic setting. A warm welcome and very high quality accommodation and catering conditions. Joli the director and Daniel in charge of the kitchen, will know how to make you share and love their island.
Of course, don't forget the rest of the team with a special mention for Frédéric and Chris, who will never stop going out of their way to accompany you throughout your stay on the various excursions offered.
Zara village is a magical and exceptional place.

Natural gems hidden on the edge of the Lokome Reserve
UNIQUE. We came for three days and stayed for three weeks!
Bucolic, uniquely nestled right on the edge of Lokobe Reserve Park. A privileged place. What is very special about Village Zara is that you are in a lush botanical garden lovingly prepared and cared for by the owners. The vegetation and fauna are splendid. The cottages in which the rooms are located mostly offer a view of the sea. When I open my shutters in the morning, the hummingbirds are gathering on the orchids and the birds are already singing. We are a couple who travel all over the world and, in our eyes, the green calm of Zara Village is a fantastic opportunity away from the time and hustle and bustle of cities and resorts.
The infinity infinity pool is temperate and sumptuous. We spend hours there enjoying the freshness of the water and the view. The combination of swimming pool, jungle, sea and calm is worth gold and that’s why we stayed there.
Another reason: Daniel, the Chef is fantastic, he works miracles (see some photos on his Instagram: @chef_daniel.yann). The prices of meals, cocktails and drinks are really modest, which made us not want to miss a single meal, just for the gastronomic pleasure. We feasted.
When we were there, the manager Jolie played a large part in making our stay exceptional. The staff was attentive and reassuring.
To get there, we took a taxi to Ambatozavary where the hotel staff was waiting for us with a cute little motorboat for our 10 minute transfer to Zara Village. I know they can also arrange a full transfer from the airport, Hell Ville or a hotel. We felt safe throughout our stay.

One of the best hotels for many trips!
· This is a great hotel for visiting a nature reserve or just spending a few days in peace and with great food. At 7 am we were on site and began to explore the forest, but the earlier, the more active the animals are and the more you will see. We didn't have to look for guides; everything was organized by the hotel for a more than reasonable fee. In addition, this is the only opportunity to go on a night excursion, and it was very interesting and we saw even more than during the day, and it’s cooler at night.
At low tide you can walk along the shore all the way to the park.
A very quiet place, you don’t even see other vacationers, the room overlooked a secluded veranda overlooking a well-kept garden with many hummingbirds.
The food is simply excellent, especially the zebu steaks and sweets, I really liked everything we ordered, the prices are low.
When we arrived, I asked for a menu in English, but there wasn’t one, in general, it’s not a problem, everything was translated using a smartphone, there is wifi. On the second day, the owner brought a menu fully translated into English, I was pleasantly surprised by this attitude towards a small request. Such an attitude in everything - no matter what I asked for, everything was done in the best possible way. One of the best hotels for many trips!
