Great Live Music

We had a lovely Hungarian meal here. It wasn't very busy but it was a Wednesday night!
The trio gypsy band are amazing! I've never seen a guy play the fiddle the way the lead player does.
A visit to this place, or a stay here is an absolute must when visiting Debrecen.

We wanted to see a real old restaurant

It was a disappointment. The old building was closed and the restaurant is in a new no style building without any feeling. We were four and only two tables were used when we arrived. The waiter was nice and quick, but we needed to wait more than 50 minutes for our order. Incredible long, never go there if you are really hungry... Otherwise, the food was excellent and copious.

This is only a review of the restaurant: which was excellent!

I hadn't realised that it was an inn, as well as a restaurant, otherwise I think I would have stayed here, judging by the photos in previous reviews! We were a large group, since it was a dinner for a conference, and they were very accommodating. The food was traditional Hungarian, but they also offered so much choice of what was available.
As always, I had some soup as a starter, which was very flavourful without being overpowering, as can sometimes be the case; the main courses came all together and we were able to choose from a large platter. I had some kind of pork dish, which was filled with cheese and tomatoes. I am sorry I didn't completely know what it was, but it was very delicious. I also had the stuffed cabbage roles, which have never been my favourite (I am from a Polish family), but these were excellent! I want the recipe, so Regi Posta staff -- if you respond to this review, please include some basic tips on how you made those!
I am not sure what kind of madman there is lurking behind the bar, but after three different kinds of delicious wine with dinner, all of which I believe were local Hungarian, he brought out three different flavours of Slivovitz. I went for the familiar plum, but there was also peach and pear. It made for an interesting walk back to my hotel, but I was very warm on a very cold evening!
It is nicely tucked away down a side street in the city centre, and the place is well worth finding. Again, judging by the other reviews, it would be quite a fun place to stay at as well!

wheelchair accessible accomodation in Debrecen (Hungary)

The place is very cosy and with a historical atmosphere. The stuff is very kind and helpful as the breakfast's palce is not accessible but it was served in our room and in good weather on the terrace of the restaurant. The accessible room is really accessible,it is big, there is enough space for the wheelchair. In the bathroom the toilet is properly high and the shower is at the level of the floor. The hotel is in the center so just a few meters and you can reach the heart of the city. Assistant dogs are welcome. There is parking place in the yard.

Time travel to the 19th century

We spent 2 nights in this pension. The first what we saw after arrival was the restaurant. The whole building was built in old style, you feel yourself in the 19th century. The room was big and clean, the mood is like a western style holiday.
The bathroom is not too big, however it's enough for a couple of nights. The foods are also awesome, dishes are very big.The pension is in the city center, you can walk to every sights.
I highly recommend it for everyone, one of the best accommodation ever.
