I had a wonderful stay at Gold Sands Langkawi! The location is perfect, right on the beach with stunning views.
The highlight for me was the rooftop infinity pool — it offers amazing panoramic views and is perfect for relaxing. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and my room was clean and comfortable.
I highly recommend this hotel for an unforgettable experience in Langkawi!

On 22/06/2026, at around 6.00 PM when i returned to my room and tried to open the safety box, I found that I couldn't open it. After that, I contacted the hotel staff/Management to open the safety box and after it was successfully opened. In-front of the staff I count dollars found and found that o USD 1300 was missing, and suspect it was stolen. Room service and behavior also bad
The hotel authorities did not take the matter seriously and said that there was nothing they could do. Then I filed a GD on 22.06.2026 at the nearest police station, GD No.-KUAH/06945/26.

Bad and Poor Service
However, I was disappointed with the service. Earlier, I had requested a simple birthday plate with wording for the celebration, but when we arrived it was not prepared. I spoke with the staff at the rooftop, including Hafiz and a sales staff member named Praviena, and I had already discussed the request earlier with Azian.
Unfortunately, the staff were not very friendly, and the kitchen later informed us that there was no cream available to write the wording on the plate. It was confusing because the request had been communicated in advance.
For a restaurant running a business with chefs and service staff, I hope communication between the team can be improved, especially for special occasions like birthdays.

Will still visit, but not this hotel anymore.
Firstly, we saw this hotel in IG as The Pure. When we came, it was GoldSands (later I found out all the IG posts under The Pure have been removed).
Secondly, understand we arrived early so no worries we can wait for our room. But we have to push our own luggage into the luggage room.
Thirdly, I booked for 4 pax. Towels in the room only 2. Went down to the reception to ask for towels, but have to pay extra. (??)
Forthly, I booked for breakfast but we were not informed of the timing. We asked, then we were told.
Fifth and last but not least, on the 2nd last day, our name was not on the breakfast list.
Luckily, the attractions made up for all these. Will still come to Langkawi but not this hotel anymore.
Secondly, understand we arrived early so no worries we can wait for our room. But we have to push our own luggage into the luggage room.

Very Poor Experience – Not Worth the Stay
This was a very disappointing stay. Aside from the hotel’s location near the beach, everything else fell well below expectations.
Housekeeping and reception were largely unresponsive. Requests were ignored or staff simply did not show up. Hot water was unstable, and the room had a persistent moldy smell that made it uncomfortable to stay in.
Breakfast was chaotic and poorly managed. The buffet did not have enough food for the number of guests, with items frequently running out and not being replenished.
There was also confusion around the heritage tax, with inconsistent amounts quoted and no clear explanation. Overall, there was a complete lack of service and organization. Instead of relaxing, guests are left to chase staff and solve problems themselves.
For a holiday stay, this level of service is unacceptable. We would not return.
