Top stay

Frankly, a nice ryad, super friendly staff, the very open boss and the young little Mimoun, polite, smiling and very sociable, I highly recommend, if you are looking for calm, tranquility, and service, the right address is this one.

Not a nice experience

Our stay at Riad Menknasia in Meknes was overall moderate and definitely not what we expected.
Initially, there was confusion with the address and name of the accommodation. The information on Booking.com was different from that on Google Maps, which made it quite difficult for us to locate the riad.
In addition, although we had made a reservation for a specific room, upon our arrival we were shown different. It took a lot of conversation before they recognized the mistake and finally, after a delay, we were given the room we had originally closed.
Unfortunately, the problems did not stop there. The room had a strong smell of mold or freshly painted space, with noticeable humidity that made the atmosphere suffocating. The air conditioning was not working, the bathroom was not very clean and there was water on the floor. The next morning we found that the layers had moisture, which significantly affected the quality of our sleep.
The breakfast was poor enough: some bread, some cheese, a jam, coffee and milk. There was no option or additional quantity, as a specific set was served at the table.
Overall, it was an experience that did not meet our expectations and personally I would not choose to stay there again.

Visually the place is okay, with a roof terrace with a good view of hills and the medina for sunset. The bed was comfortable and the shower was decent, but the room was cold. The owner is a bit of clown, and the breakfast is very poor, with no eggs. My booking was for 2 people, including breakfast for 2 people, but since I am just one person, the least they could do is throw in a couple of fried eggs and some pleasant Moroccan hospitality — but there was none. No English is spoken, so make sure your French is good enough to complain about the poor, glucose-spiking, protein-less peasant’s breakfast.

Enjoy Fes in another accommodation, there are thousands

The place is well preserved and decorated, as well as the staff is friendly, but there are details that made us have a very bad experience.
They offer Hammam but it is terrible if you can call it a Hammam, I suppose that when they apply it to tourists, they don't even realize it, but I have been visiting Morocco for work and tourism for more than 20 years, which is a magnificent country to visit and it is a It's a shame, because the rest was very good.
Then they tried to fix it without asking and made me look like a liar, horrible.

Security cameras turned off, staff broke into our rooms robbing us

The experience was horrible, as after the first night spent there me and my friends were robbed. We arrived on Thursday afternoon, and on Friday morning, just as we were having breakfast, the employees were disabling the security cameras and broke into the upper rooms, stealing hard worked money from our wallets, and there is a police investigation that can back-up everything I wrote here.
Let me be clear about this: I did not leave money laying around, inviting people to steal it. I did not leave my room door open, making it easy for everyone to come in and steal. I did not leave my wallet out in the open. It wasn't even in my pursue, but hidden away in a pocket, in my backpack. And the door to my room? Locked with the key provided by the hotel's staff.
These people stole from us, and when the owner was confronted with the police, he started making a big scandal, threatening. We had to move the next day to a different hotel, paying a substantial difference, not to mention we never recovered our stolen money.
I am extremely disappointed with how the owner managed the situation, and in all honesty, this experience has ruined our vacation in Morocco.
