This hotel offers large comfortable rooms, beautiful views of the lake with a wonderful pool and green areas. For us it was wonderful. If you didn’t have a car it’s a little far off the beaten path from town and restaurants.

Gorgeous location, very nice and helpful staff. Common areas and pool/lakefront are well maintained and comfortable. Food was good. The rooms are a little run down. Beds are not very comfortable. Linens are worn, old, and stained.

Lousy and advertise as a luxury hotel! A thousand disappointment!

The cleanliness of the hotel lousy! We arrived at night and at the door of our room and the entire hallway thousands of live mosquitoes and piles of them dead on street corners that they did not care to remove. Hotel maintenance is urgent, bathrooms horrible, mirrors old and dirty, keys dripping all night, toilet dirty, towels frayed. The service also fatal... no pool towels, no TV controls or no batteries, cobwebs on restaurant tables, among other things. All bad, pity hotel that looks q at one time was “decent” dropped to a thousand. Do not fall into the trap that it is a luxury resort... just if it reaches 2 stars.

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE, I DON'T KNOW IF I'LL COME BACK

I write this review with mixed feelings as I have been visiting this hotel for more than 30 years and have some affection, but on my last trip I was disappointed. The problem is that it is the most decent hotel in the Catemaco area. What a pity no serious chain has reached this area.
I was going to stay two nights but due to the bad experience we chose to leave the hotel. I only stayed one night.
THEY DON'T RESPECT RESERVATIONS, WE WERE WITH ELDERLY PEOPLE AND THEY STAYED ON THE 3RD FLOOR
We booked two rooms 2 days before our arrival. We specifically requested at least one room on the Ground Floor as we were going with elderly people, we were told that if we paid at that time the first night we would be separated from the rooms, only on the 2nd floor as they did not have in PB, so we agreed and sent payment immediately.
Upon arrival we were given both rooms on the 3RD FLOOR, which was a problem because we were with elderly people.
AIR CONDITIONING NOT WORKING. THEY PROVIDED MAINTENANCE AT THE TIME
Upon arrival we noticed that the AC was not working, we reported it and the technicians went to solve the problem which took 1 hr 30 mins to resolve. They literally maintained the weather at the time and the thermostat equipment. I had to stay all this time in the room as they accessed the roof through the balcony of my room.
DOOR PLATE NOT WORKING (INCREDIBLE), TO ENTER THEY HAD TO OPEN THE DOOR
In the afternoon, hours after our arrival we noticed that the door veneer stopped working, they came to check it but told me that the veneer did not serve and that it would not serve until the other day since the battery had run out. I asked the young man at reception:
Okay, I'm going out to dinner at the restaurant, what do I do to get into my room?
I came to the reception and I came to open it, he answered me
Okay, so every time I leave the room, I have to come see you so you can open my room?
That's right, he replied.
NO WIFI OR LIGHT CURRENT
Because room 311 and 312 are the furthest from reception, the internet service did not reach us (even though they indicate that they have WiFi antennas) we reported it and we were told that they would check it which was never resolved. We ran out of battery in the mobile equipment as the two contact points of the whole room had no power, we had to charge them in the restaurant, we understand that it is for lack of maintenance.
ROOM/BATHROOM WITHOUT MAINTENANCE AND LACK OF CLEANLINESS
The room apparently looked clean but had cobwebs at all the junctions of the walls, the bathroom had covered the sink which is somewhat uncomfortable.
SALAMQUESA STOOLS THROUGHOUT THE ROOM
I understand that the hotel is in a totally natural area but that is not why we must have the little animals inside the rooms, we had two salamanquesas inside the room and by the feces of the little animal, we knew that the room was not clean.
GOOD THINGS
The restaurant has good variety of food.
CONCLUSION
It is the only hotel in the area and it is a classic, I do not know if I will return but if I return I hope not to go through the same experience.
This review is made because the hotel is considered 4 stars and definitely because of the state it keeps, I do not consider it to be 4 stars.

Not “La Finca” But “La Nasty”

I’ve traveled to Catemaco many times now and wanted to try “La Finca” so finally booked a room for 2 nights! Boy, what a disappointment. It’s supposed to be the finest hotel in Catemaco, but I beg to differ. More like, “La Nasty”. Perhaps back in the day, this was a fine hotel but they have really let it go downhill. The good things I will say is the view of the lake and the pool area. I did not try the restaurant. The AC worked good, which a great relief in the 100+ degree weather. But the room itself was really in bad shape. The worst part I think was the bedspreads looking like they had stains all over them. YUCK! Come on FINCA, you can do better. Buy better bedding for your hotel!! Also needs some repair on the walls and ceilings. The mirror was all scratched up. Shower just sort of drained the water rather than a good spray. They need to just remodel the rooms and bring things up-to-date. The furniture was all scratched and dirty. Even the art work on the walls was just filthy with old dead bugs in the glass. UGH!!! I would not stay here again unless they updated everything. We ended up staying a couple nights at a different hotel which was nicer and cheaper. When you pay $80 per night, you expect much more in Mexico!! Pictures of our room attached. Would not recommend.
