I want to be at Casa Iturbe.

Our friends chose this place to stay while visited the Monarch butterflies. This place is great. The complimentary breakfast ROCKS! Eggs to your liking, chilaquiles that are out of this world, fresh fruit with yogurt and granola, and sweet breads. It's a buffet, so go back for more! 15(?) rooms that are roomy, and the beds are VERY comfortable. Friendly, engaging staff. Clean. Pool. Gardens with cacti, etc. Stay away from rooms next to the road (1-3) and opt for the ones further back (10-15). Road noise in the early evening can be disturbing. Our party had rooms 1, 5, and 12 so we ran the gamut. 12 was the best of the three for sleep. Rooms have TV, full bath with complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body wash (replaced daily). Very comfortable beds. The motion light at the door is thoughtful, but can be annoying as it goes on every time you walk by, even if you're not coming/going. Clean premises. No mini-fridge, microwave, or ice. The toilet and shower are separate from the sink. The showerhead hangs from the ceiling and so sprays straight down. I LOVE that! Daily cleaning from maid.

Remarkable and amazing for this city

I had booked a little randomly and was very pleasantly surprised by the elegance of this hotel.
My heated pool bordered by a cactus garden is a pleasure.
The only problem is the TV doesn't work. But the wifi connection is excellent as is the Welcoming.

Modern & clean boutique hotel

A lovely boutique hotel, very modern, clean with lovely landscaping around the pool. Breakfast is included. Walking distance to many good restaurants (El Buen Tono is superb!) A few points kept me from a 5 star review, but by all means, these are not deal breakers, just a convenience if a person wanted to hang around for several days: No mini fridge, only one waste basket, 1 bottle of water which we used to make a small pot of coffee waiting for 8:30am breakfast. I bet we could have asked for more water & an extra waste basket, but we were out the door to the Sanctuaries!

Cool hotel with some quirks, both good and bad.

The hotel is located in a pretty bad-looking area, and not what I would call all that close to either the central area or the bus terminal. Inside the secure walls, though, it's a very new and modern boutique hotel. Our room was interesting--it had no windows really, and the decor was definitely on the minimalist side. There was no heater, but a fan. It had high ceilings, but the interior walls didn't go all the way up. The sink was almost beside the bed; the free wi-fi signal didn't quite penetrate the thick walls into the room, so we had to go outside to use it. Great bed, however.
Outside, the grounds were beautiful. There was a big pool and a spa, and a restaurant that seemed almost to float on the pool. A buffet breakfast was included with our room, but it was pretty average. It would have been nicer if the food didn't look like it had been sitting in the dishes a while. The fresh bread, coffee and fruit were the star of the show for me. The lady at the check-in counter was quite friendly and helpful with suggestions on dining in the area. Also very nice to call us taxis when we needed them.

Pleasant experience

The reception from the hotel was warm. The rooms are very quiet and the pillows are very soft. The breakfast was very good. I would definitely stay at the same establishment again.
