Excellent option facing the lagoon, ideal for families and children
The location is a great success: being practically on foot from the lagoon makes all the difference. Being able to get out and have the water so close, in such a serene environment, really invites you to slow down and enjoy yourself without haste.
In our case, traveling with older adults, the hotel proved quite suitable. Although there are stairs, the fact that it only has two levels makes it manageable and does not pose a greater challenge.
The family room was very functional for us: three double beds, air conditioning (key to the climate) and a small kitchenette with refrigerator that allowed us to organize better during the stay.
It is a great hotel, comfortable, well located and thought to enjoy Bacalar in a relaxed way, especially if you are traveling with family or with elderly people.
The excellent breakfasts, we appreciate the attention of Juan, attentive at all times.
Overall, a very pleasant experience and an option we would definitely consider again.

Lousy accommodation, beautiful landscapes
All their paths are made of a type of stone that by moisture has formed moss and that makes them slippery, although you can not control nature, it is not justification that they do not sweep at least the stones to remove a little moss. At no point are there railings, even the stairs leading to the room and terrace are not secure. At night there is little lighting outdoors. Of the three nights we stayed, only once did the toilet. They had to be told to leave us the complimentary bottled water as when we arrived there were two bottles. The rooms have air conditioning, refrigerator, TV, the latter never served.
The hotel is also advertised as a restaurant on its website. The day we arrived we asked for Restaurant Service and the staff said there was no, and they phoned the owner and told me and said there was no Service. The owner said that because there had been a storm there was no restaurant, another person told us that the reason for not having a restaurant in Service is for off-season, whatever the real reason, they should notify before generating the reservation. The owner never apologized just offered the solution of calling a taxi. The staff is scarce and doesn't solve anything.
The next day, an employee told us that there would be Restaurant Service from that day, so the next day we wanted to order something and they said it was false alarm, they were still without Restaurant Service. Until the last day of stay was when there was Service, I do not know if chance or coincidence because more guests who were foreigners already spoke, since when we arrived we were the only ones.
To check out, no one was back at reception to hand over the key.
The only rescueable thing about the place is the location in relation to the lagoon, the views are beautiful and a place of excellent for swimming. You can easily get around if you are carrying a car, taxi is also an option. The hotel is 1 hour and a half from the center of Bacalar walking or 10 minutes by car

Muchas gracias por alojarse con nosotros y por tomarse el tiempo de compartir su opinión. Nos complace saber que disfrutó de la belleza del entorno: nuestra ubicación en plena selva maya, a orillas de la laguna, y los momentos de relax que ofrecemos, son precisamente lo que nos inspira cada día.
En Hotel Wayak Bacalar hacemos un gran esfuerzo para que nuestros huéspedes encuentren la comodidad deseada: habitaciones amplias, aire acondicionado, frigobar, acceso a la laguna, kayaks gratuitos, estacionamiento sin costo y un ambiente íntimo y tranquilo.
Respecto a los puntos que menciona: estamos ubicados en un ambiente de selva y humedad natural, por lo que los caminos empedrados pueden presentar musgo tras lluvias. Sin embargo, entendemos la relevancia de la seguridad y ya reforzamos la frecuencia de limpieza, barrido y señalización para mitigar ese efecto.
Asimismo, la iluminación exterior, la atención en recepción y la correcta logística de servicios son áreas que estamos revisando para optimizar la experiencia de llegada, estancia y salida.
Valoramos sus comentarios porque nos ayudan a mejorar, y aunque lamentamos que su estancia no haya sido impecable, esperamos poder recibirle nuevamente para brindarle el nivel de calidad que distingue nuestro hotel.

Lousy service.
But here comes the bad thing, when we are told that food is served until 9 pm, at 3 in the afternoon we are told that there is no longer service, there were other people in the restaurant who asked for service from 1 and never took the plate, the boy told us that there was no chef and almost that we did it as we wanted, obviously we demand the service or refund, which they also did not want to give us, later someone else arrived and told us that because of changes of administration they had this drawback, but now I start reading the comments and no. They are not good, the next day for breakfast we had to order it very early and took 2 HRS to serve , this is too long, the food is not bad but the service is abysmal , too slow, the hotel are not bad, but I get expensive for the abysmal service they give , the view of the lagoon is beautiful, pity that they do not know how to take advantage of what they have and have the worst service, just so I will not stay there again.
