Nice Room, Disappointing Breakfast and Noise Issues
Starting with the positives, the room itself was a good size. The sheets and towels were in good condition, clean, and bright white. The bed was comfortable, but the comforter seemed not breathable and a bit plasticky on the skin. The TV remote was a bit finicky, but maintenance replaced it promptly. The AC worked well but hummed loudly. The room and bathroom were clean overall, though the carpet felt a bit sticky.
The biggest issues involved breakfast and noise. My partner went downstairs ahead of time to confirm breakfast hours because hotel details indicated breakfast ended at 10:00 AM but also noted that hours could vary by day. He was specifically told breakfast would end at 11:00 AM. Based on that information, we planned accordingly. When we went down around 9:50 AM, staff already had carts out, and by 10:00 AM they were actively removing the food. We were extremely disappointed because we missed breakfast due to being given incorrect information by staff. Even though we were physically there before everything was fully removed, no accommodation was offered, and we were simply told breakfast was over. We specifically booked this hotel in part for the convenience of complimentary breakfast, so not being able to enjoy it due to staff error was very frustrating.
The second major issue was noise. Our room faced the main street, and throughout the night there were cars racing and creating significant noise disturbances that repeatedly woke us up. As a result, we did not get a restful night’s sleep. It seems the hotel is aware this is an issue since earplugs were provided in the room, but there was only one set even though there were two guests. I had specifically requested a quiet room, so this was especially disappointing.
We were also staying for a special occasion to celebrate a birthday, and this was noted in advance. Unfortunately, there was no acknowledgment of that at all.
Overall, the hotel had some strong points in terms of cleanliness and comfort, but the breakfast miscommunication and poor sleep due to noise significantly affected our experience.
