Ca la bunica acasǎ
A very cozy and beautiful place with responsible staff, delicious breakfast and dinner.
We had our big room with separate bathroom.
Breakfast was included in the price.
As dinner we had traditional Moldovan food and wine - it was very tasty.
The atmosphere and the interior was so close to our granny’s home.
It was an amazing stay with the family.

Spoiled day.
We were at the “Butuceni” restaurant, residence “Rotundu”. We arrived there at 12 noon. They told us there was a free table. They seated us at a simple wooden table, which we didn’t like at first, but we agreed supposedly because there were no other places available, even though the restaurant was completely empty. We came just for an hour to have something to eat.
When the waitress came — who, by the way, didn’t seem eager to approach us — we told her that we were ready to sit there. I had already taken the menu myself. I also found the chairs myself. There was just a table. It was dirty, cats were walking on it, full of dust. My wife asked them to put a tablecloth, like on the other tables, but we were told that this table was not meant to have one.
So we had to sit at a dirty, dusty table and eat our soup, our meal. It’s simply unimaginable — you just can’t do that.
During our conversation with the waitress, she started correcting our “proper Romanian language,” even though we were speaking Moldovan and understood each other perfectly. The staff’s attitude was terrible. They seated us at a low, dirty table, with no cutlery, no napkins, no spices. Instead of serving us, she started teaching us how to speak “proper Romanian,” even though we were their guests.
A place with an awful staff attitude. We had been there six months earlier as well. We didn’t write any comment back then. The kitchen is weak. The prices are very high. And with such service, I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go there. A terrible place in terms of service.

Gorgeous guesthouse with warm hospitality!
When we arrived at the guesthouse, we were warmly greeted by one the owners who suggested we should be taken by her and her husband to their wine cellar for some wine tasting. It was such a great experience and it was lovely talking to both of them. We sat outside for dinner and had lovely food and local wine. The room was lovely decorated and you can tell the owners had a good taste as the whole property was lovely decorated and made you feel cozy and at home. The breakfast was to die for with a good menu of warm dishes, such as eggs and bacon and omelete, as well as yoghurt with preserves and muffins which were hot and straight from the oven! The only negative was the lack of being able to pay by card despite it being clearly stated in the booking confirmation. Luckily we had cash on us as the closest ATM was a 30min drive away. All in all though, our best stay while travelling in Moldova!

Rotundu Residence |Rustic stay in Old Orhei
A beautifully restored old manor with lot of modern life appliances like floor heating and well organized private bathrooms. Rooms are comfortable and bedding is good quality. The temperature inside was just right despite the cold and snow outside. The breakfast was wonderful, with local treats as well as international dishes, fresh orange and carrot juice, coffee, tea, etc.
They have a sauna which we did use
The room was quite small. It is kind of difficult to reach the residence, especially after heavy snowfall, as no clearing of snow is done in the village - not depending on the property, but our car suffered and there was no warning. A la carte menu for dinner is a bit light and did not seem to as good cost to value. The payment procedure was a bit awkward- we didn't receive any payment proof and staff explained that they are not obliged to offer one.

Отлично !!!
Вода в кране и на столе -родниковая ! Что может быть лучше .идеальная чистота . Завтрак превзошёл все ожидания! И очень приятные и гостеприимные хозяева !!! Угощали со своего сада овощами и фруктами )Спасибо большое. С удовольствием вернёмся )
