Special hotel

Visited this special hotel during our elbe cycling holiday. Neat room with good bed and functional sanitary facilities. To our surprise we could also dine there. Taken advantage of that immediately. Was fine. Bicycles parked and charged inside the main hall. In the adjacent meadow were alpacas, how special.

Neat rooms and quiet

A special but fun experience. A converted farmhouse where you cannot see from the outside that it has been so neatly renovated on the inside. Nothing to do, peace and tranquility in abundance and is good. Good bed and good shower, good food. No further facilities

Messy hotel with backlog of operations.

After a hot day of cycling along the Elbe you would like a shower. The bad thing about this hotel is that you can only go there after 4 pm. Now Barby is not a cosmopolitan city so soon you've looked at everything. Finally you can check in at the hotel, but then you first appear to get the wrong room, which is already occupied by someone else, or has not yet been cleaned. In short, the coordination in this hotel is completely lacking, as evidenced by the empty boxes that are everywhere the piles of laundry, dirty and clean. The room is small and very warm, the beds are okay, the duvet covers way too hot. The bathrooms are small but good. For dinner we had met at 18.30 but at 18.45 we had not seen anyone in the restaurant area. So we just left. The breakfast room is low and dark while there is a beautiful terrace next to it. In short, it is very messy, that is possibly due to a lack of staff. But once very good cleaning and tidying should really be possible.

Quiet night in the old manor

A real estate with different parts of the building welcomes you from the outside. The room was rather small but sufficient, the bathroom rather very small but also sufficient. All furniture and the bathroom very quality, there is no cheap goods or Ikea included. - The bed is very soft, however, who can not do that has a small problem. - Breakfast was nothing special, but perfectly ok, coffee fine

Good value pension with good food.

We originally booked another hotel in Barby but when we arrived they were having building work done so they sent us here. The building looks a bit shabby from the street but is actually quite nice inside. Our room was simple but very clean, ideal for an overnight stop while cycling.
the garden is lovely to sit in with a book and a beer after a tiring cycle. The owner speaks pretty good English, and she apologised for not having an English menu. I told her it didn't matter as all German menus are the same - they really are, we were in Germany for three weeks and we never want to see another schnitzel. She got a bit miffed at this but after a chat she understood I meant no offence, it was just an observation. If you come here and it's "Mexican week" or the special is chicken Madras you have me to thank!
The pork steak was actually very good compared to others we ate, and the general vibe of the place was nice. Breakfast was, as with dinner, the same as any other German hotel. I guess the German people like to know what they are getting, and at this hotel they get a pretty good deal for the price.
