A nice hotel to explore the city
We spent 3 days here and were very satisfied. Unfortunately, we could not test the restaurant because we do not observe the rest day. But there are restaurants nearby.
The location is great, close to the center and attractions of the city.
The rooms are functional and adequate, very clean and good.
The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was very good.

Cosy hotel with a pleasant atmosphere
A very cozy hotel with a pleasant atmosphere. Breakfast was really excellent and left nothing to be desired. Of particular note is the extraordinary friendliness of the staff – you feel directly welcome. Very convenient are also the parking spaces directly in front of the house, including e-charging stations.

Once again defects, dirt and above all unfulfilled promises! Part 2 of the drama
Already in July 2024 I had an unpleasant stay in the Lohmühle. So I had made contact, named the unspeakable abuses and received feedback from the hotel manager, who did not lead me to suspect that neither remedy would be provided nor efforts to make amends should be made.
Had I known this in advance, I would have insisted on a free cancellation of the further booking for August.
So I had given a clear mandate. Next time it has to be good!
I arrived. The receptionist's questions already made me clairvoyant here.
There was obviously nothing done to give me a smooth stay in a renovated room.
I had asked especially. The staff member confirmed that it was a renovated room, but was not.
After entering, however, I found that the last renovation/modernization had to be decades ago.
So I already felt deceived and disappointed here. The room was this time facing the noisy streets and stream side. Problems such as dirt and worn towels existed again.
Likewise mold and encrustations in the shower.
As the time for the festival was pressing there was another question at the reception. The promised renovated rooms would only be double rooms. My complaint and commitment was not known. I already signal here a later move would be out of the question.
The hotel manager I could only briefly address. She couldn't remember anything, either. "Shame" is all I can say.
So there was a receptionist about 30 years younger than me. Is that how you do it now?
A collective taxi transfer delayed by more than 15 minutes etc.
Yes ultimately I was offered I could move to another single room after the performance. I thought there were only renovated double rooms?
The whole thing happened by email while I was in the performance. So, who wants to pack everything after a festival visit in the middle of the night for the last hours until departure now, move etc.
As I said, I can't think of anything more about the Lohmühle. It is remembered with dirt, worn towels, blow flies and false promises!

Highly recommended
Great location, 5 minutes to the center, parking at the house (5 € per day), easy to reach by car, 1a breakfast with ample choice and no packaging waste, service friendly and competent. Unfortunately, the restaurant had closed on the two days of our stay, but the recommendations nearby were impeccable. Service friendly and competent.

Defects, dirt and ants in the room! Part 1
The few positive points!
The location of the hotel is close to the center.
The paid collective taxi to the Festspielhaus arrived on time. The receptionist at the time was very friendly.
I had relied a lot on the reviews and was very disappointed. Keep your fingers off the grinder if you have certain demands on cleanliness, service and reliability.
Heavy soiling in the bathroom and shower. The mold and dirt encrustations also do not come from a few days, or weeks of poor cleaning and also from too hard water, as the hotel management explained to me. This would have to be cleaned at all. Not only selectively, but also adapted to the circumstances.
There were also heavily frayed towels that should no longer be used in the guest area. Supposedly they all got dumped. When staying again a month later, however, a similar picture presented itself again.
The room had no air conditioning. With the high summer temperatures, a window should have been opened at least at night. However, I preferred to close this one. Countless ants came through the window already open when moving into the room. These romped in the balcony planting in the 2nd century. Stock. The ants were already in the room and I didn't want to take them home as souvenirs of a terrible hotel stay.
The room and furniture probably had the glory days a very long time ago.
The information on the homepage regarding the restaurant was unfortunately also incorrect. During the festival there are also dishes on Sundays.
I made a mistake accepting this offer to eat there. Although almost the entire terrace in front of the hotel was free, I had been placed at a sloping table at the edge. The dish with sauce was served and first spread generously on the tablecloth by the slant of the table and there a bit with a napkin, but neither changed the tablecloth, nor was I transferred to a clean table. There was an invasion of blow flies. So I can not recommend the restaurant visit either.
Since a non-cancellable hotel stay had already been booked I was looking for contact with the hotel management. There were many implausible explanations and also promises for the next stay.
After stay two, I now know: Don't rely on commitments. This is not about the guest, but purely and exclusively about profit.
This has nothing to do with hospitality. More on the unfulfilled promises in the new review after stay number two.
