Great option for Bayreuth Festival

Great option for attending the Bayreuth Festival. Definitely one of the closest options for getting to the opera on foot. Rooms are basic and small, but clean and comfortable for a solo traveler. There is a/c but it doesnt cool much (even at coldest setting). Train noise wasn't a bother even though my room faced the station/tracks. Staff were very friendly, which helped make the experience positive. Breakfast was decent. Would return. The lack of shelving or drawers fro clothing was the only real drawback besides the lackluster a/c.

Good choice if you are going to the Festspielhaus

We stayed two nights in August when we attended the Bayreuth Festival. Because it was during the Festival period, the room rate was quite high. But still it was relatively inexpensive compared to other hotels in the town. The room is very small just like any other IBIS Budget brand hotels. The bathroom is also basic. This hotel is in fact in the same building as IBIS Styles, sharing the lobby, corridor, and the breakfast dining hall. I think the room is slightly larger on the Styles side. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was no hair dryer or an iron, but we could borrow them from the front desk. The breakfast was reasonably good as well. The best part is that this hotel is one of the closest to the Festspielhaus, within a walking distance.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We knew it was an Ibis Budget when we booked so were expecting limited facilities as we have stayed with this chain before, but we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the stay. The room was compact, had facilities to hang clothing but no where to put other clothing this had to remain in the suitcase for the duration of the stay. Bathroom was great, lovely shower with plenty of hot water. No drink making facilities in the room but again we were aware of this limitation with the Budget chain so took plenty of water and soft drinks.
It was a short walk from the railway station and there was a local bus that ran frequently to take us to the Festival Hall where we watched Wagners Ring Cycle, for the more energetic it is within walking distance and we chose to walk back each night which was easy. This is the closest hotel to the Festspielhalle if you are attending the Festival, however, this does mean that you are a little bit further from the centre of the town, but again walking is not a great distance and buses are available.
The only quibble, and it is a minor one is that the room cleaning was not very great. The bathroom was cleaned daily, bed made, but the floor was not swept/vacuumed once in our 8 day stay.
Breakfast was excellent and the kitchen staff worked really hard, big thank you to all the staff, reception and the bar were 24/7 so when we arrived after midnight we were able to check in and get a drink. Would recommend.
