MARITIM BONN.

..The first feeling is not a hotel but an ocean liner, big and beautiful. Our room 135 is pretty spacious. The three of us had a pleasant surprise in store - a plate of fruit for us plus a sunbed and some delicious food for our dog.
It's very hard not to overeat at breakfast)) And prosecco in the morning is just lovely. Good choice of dishes and drinks at dinner.

Sleeping TOP, eating FLOP

Nice room with great beds, mattresses, and bathroom. The menu is VERY modest; carpaccio was sold out, pinsa was mediocre, the Mediterranean salad was indefinable, chopped, unappetizing-looking pieces of leftover lettuce swimming in an overpowering brown dressing, the sugar for the espresso only arrived when the espresso was already cold. At breakfast, there was no fried bacon with the scrambled eggs. Perhaps out of consideration for Muslim guests? Neither the employee at the egg station (who could not make an omelet) nor the supervising employee had a plausible explanation for this; "ham and eggs" exist worldwide, and they always include bacon. So, sleep here gladly, but please go elsewhere to eat.

A surprising gem!

I had never stayed in the Maritim before, but there was a big event going on in Bonn and my usual hotels, Ameron and the Marriott, were completely full.
I was a bit apprehensive because of some of the negative reviews, but I was very pleasantly surprised.
I stayed on the 5th floor and it was one of the quietest nights in a hotel I can remember. The room was comfortable, cleaned beautifully every day and the shower was fantastic.
The breakfasts were excellent with a wide variety and huge space with plenty of seating so it never felt crowded. I had dinner at their Italian restaurant two evenings and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. I was lucky it was 'spargel' season and it was delicious.
There was a mixup regarding my credit card being charged before my arrival when I usually pay cash to avoid currency exchange charges. I had communicated with Laura and her responses were prompt and professional. She said I should talk with Marlon Sollgan when I check out to get it all sorted.
I was expecting to have to explain everything again and was dreading it. Instead, when I asked for him at reception, he brightly said, 'You must be Mrs. Trojan and you want to pay in cash and refund your credit card!'. You can't imagine my relief. He was so enjoyable to work with and the transaction was smooth and easy.
Thank you, Mr. Sollgan, for the impressive customer service. I will definitely be coming back to the Maritim now and recommending it to others.

Breakfast super sensationally good. Stay ok.

The decor of the room was very nice.
Breakfast was sensationally super good every morning!
The hotel staff are mega-friendly and take great care of their guests.
Unfortunately, none of the hotel rooms have air conditioning. There is only one ventilation system, but it is only switched on when the hotel thinks it is right - and when it is running, you can only regulate the air supply a little via this ventilation system - but this does not mean that you have a great tangible influence on the room temperature. If (as happened with us in the period from 23.-25.04.2026) "three days" in a row the sun has heated the building, you notice this very clearly in the room - and does not need a blanket at night. It's not pleasant. I don't want to know how it's going to be until June to September...
The water in the pool was more refreshing on 23.04.2026 and 24.04.2026 due to its rather low temperature, than inviting for bathing. There was no thermometer or indicator anywhere, but I estimate the water had a temperature of 23-24°C at most. You had to move really swimmingly in the water to feel the temperature was reasonably "pleasant" - if you just wanted to enjoy the massage jets and the water itself... let's put it this way: many people did not even get into the pool after the "foot-in-water test", but left the swimming pool immediately. Late on Friday evening, noticeably warmer water was added. I suspect that from Monday to Friday water heating costs are saved and then on Saturday / Sunday (or after the hotel itself has been used up) warmer pool water is provided to guests for bathing fun.

Hier ein kurzer Überblick zu unseren Regelungen: Die Zimmerklimatisierung erfolgt über eine zentrale Umluftanlage, die saisonabhängig gesteuert wird (Winter: Heizen, Sommer: Kühlen). Wir bedauern, dass die Raumtemperatur während Ihres Aufenthalts für Sie nicht angenehm war.
Die Wassertemperatur des Pools wird von unserer technischen Abteilung täglich kontrolliert; als Ziel gilt eine konstante Temperatur von ca. 28 °C. Ihre Bemerkung zu den Wasserheizkosten entspricht daher nicht unserer aktuellen Praxis.
