For an overnight stay quite OK

The Hotel Plaza Inn in Chemnitz’s Röhrsdorf district is located somewhat inconspicuously on Wildparkstraße in a small commercial area. Nearby there is the Chemnitz Center and the Metro wholesale shopping. Also the highway is not far away. So conveniently well located yet quiet. The hotel has 104 rooms, an elevator, conference rooms and parking.
I stayed in room 216 for one night at the Plaza Inn in September 2025. The 22 sqm double room was equipped with two beds, good mattresses, carpeting, desk and chair, armchair and table, refrigerator, luggage rack, TV, telephone, coffee/tea maker and a cupboard with sliding door. All simple but functional.
In the bathroom there was a toilet and sink, a bathtub with shower, a soap dispenser, hairdryer and a magnifying mirror. Everything was clean.
On the ground floor at the reception, a friendly and attentive staff member had welcomed us, who explained everything briefly and ensured a smooth check-in. In the area there was still a shoe polishing machine and the elevator. A few steps down we went to the restoration area.
The breakfast room seemed a bit “aged” at first glance, but this proved to be quite cozy the next morning at breakfast, especially as everything was not so cramped. Breakfast was good and rich. In addition to bread, bread rolls, jams, cheese, sausage, among others, there were also fresh fruit, small cakes, yogurt and a coffee machine with specialties. In good weather, breakfast would have been possible outdoors. There were enough tables and chairs ready.
Plaza Inn offers 55 parking spaces, each costing 5 euros per night. According to “Think green”, you can do without cleaning and changing towels and do some environmental protection. Overall, the value for money in the hotel is quite good

Stay away from here

Damn hotel, man at the reception is very rude, someone who is still from the GDR time exactly.
We were in a group, but had not taken the half board option (partly because we wanted to eat elsewhere for the rest of the trip)
We wanted to join (and pay extra), but were barked at with a NEIN.
Afterwards we were happy that we didn't eat here, the rest of the group complained that the food was cold and the soup was diluted tomato puree.
Rooms very dated and without air conditioning.
Beds a disaster, the pillow is just flat, no socket by the bed.
You go crazy about the fan in the bathroom, makes more noise than a motorbike!
Breakfast can go through, quite a bit of choice in toppings, bread choice lean

08/15 Hotel, something more modern would be nice

To me, the Plaza Inn seemed like an ageing Ramada hotel. The scent in the hallways was the same, in the rooms it was never really pleasant due to the relatively high temperatures during the day and accordingly stuffy. Breakfast is fine, even in the evening in the restaurant you could eat well. But modernisation would be due again.

Sting of tobacco. Unbelievable service.

Absolutely terrible.
We arrived and anyone for the reception. Just a security man who attend us and give the keys.
The room completely sting of tobacco. Incredible, worst than a disco before for bitten tobacco inside. Deeply breath in makes you cough.
Going for reception and again the security man with jokes about my complaining tell me that he can’t do anything neither give me a complaining form or help me to find another solution. Absolutely unbelievable.
Looks like a motel of 2 stars as maximum.
