We will come back
Superb location between Fulda and Wasserkuppe.

Breakfast was good, I think I found something.
In the evening, plenty of food.

Needs improvement.
Room large with a nice balcony, small but clean bathroom. No safe, no refrigerator, no air conditioning.
The food should be reconsidered; it was very one-sided and very simple, with no highlights included, on the second evening. There was no rosé wine available until the end on the second evening, and on the last evening, there was no wheat beer available after 6:00 PM; breakfast (8:00-10:00) was also not replenished after 9:00 AM. The pool area is very large and well-maintained. The staff is very friendly.

A big disappointment on all fronts
The brochure said dogs were welcome. Upon arrival it appeared that dogs must stay in the room during all opening hours of restaurant. This wasn't in the brochure. All in all about 7 hours a day. We had our puppy with us. She barked everything together. To our question if there was not somewhere we could eat with her the answer of the very unfriendly receptionist was: no, this is the policy. Put this policy in the brochure!!!then we would never have booked this and had no problem.
Room was very dated, bathroom so small you were knees against the door. The door couldn't even open completely. Bathroom floor very smooth. Elevator didn't do more than that.
Receptionist made no effort to explain how we could get to the room. Was looking between the different buildings.

Great break in the Rhön
We had a lovely stay at the Rhön Residence Hotel and would certainly come back.
Upon arrival, we initially had a room where the television was inconveniently placed around the corner, making it difficult to see from the bed. However, despite the hotel being fully booked, we were able to change rooms and received a nice, clean room with a balcony.
Overall, the room was tidy and clean, but we would have appreciated a refrigerator and a safe. The Wi-Fi in our room was rather weak as well.
The food was very good overall. Lunch always included a salad buffet and a hot dish, while dinner offered a choice of a meat and a fish dish each evening. I particularly appreciated that I follow a sugar-free diet and could speak directly with the head chef. Chef David prepared unseasoned dishes for me every day, for which I am very grateful; that was truly wonderful and not something to take for granted.
Breakfast was also good, but we would have liked a bit more sweet options, such as croissants or pancakes. There were fresh juices, scrambled eggs, bacon or sausages, muesli, yogurt, etc. I found it positive that we always had a reserved table for the entire stay and that there were free drinks starting at 5 PM. Coffee and tea were available all day long.
One small point of criticism was the leaf salad, which was sometimes not washed thoroughly and was sandy.
The meal times were well organized: Breakfast from 8 AM and dinner from 6 PM, with the option to eat a bit earlier most of the time. Lunch also included a hot dish with a salad buffet starting at 12 PM. From 9 PM, there were also snacks like tortillas, cheese/salami, rolls, nuts, etc.
The evening program was varied with a welcome, live music, a magic show, and bingo night.
Additionally, you could use a bus tour to Wasserkuppe for free. You would be picked up from the hotel and brought back.
We also liked the wellness area. There is a large indoor pool, an outdoor pool, a sunbathing area with loungers and hammocks, as well as a nice sauna area with three saunas. The sauna was even usable with swimwear until 2 PM.
The hotel overall gives a well-maintained impression, with a beautiful lobby, terrace, and a game room in the basement with foosball and billiards. One should note that not all rooms have an elevator. (Relevant for older people or wheelchair users)
We would especially like to highlight the very friendly staff. Everyone was helpful and warm-hearted. A big thank you to Chef David and to Gina and Elke from the service who particularly stood out in my memory.
Overall, a pleasant stay; the points of criticism are rather minor and complaining at a high level, as the stay was really very enjoyable overall.

Never again
Compared to the enjoyhotel in Sauerland, unfortunately, a complete disappointment. It started with my family not being able to find it with TomTom in the car because there was apparently no reception. If one knows this as a hotelier, there should at least be signs on the main road. Since I found it with my car using Google Maps, I had to pick up my family, who had been wandering around for about an hour without success, with my car. Unfortunately, the food was mostly inedible; for lunch, there was a 'currywurst' that did not resemble the name in the slightest. It was a sausage swimming in an unidentifiable sauce, with a kind of tomato sauce next to it, which tasted simply awful. The breakfast was rather standard; the salads, soup, and vegetables at dinner were okay, but the meat and fish were mostly overcooked. The hotel itself is a labyrinth of corridors and stairs, completely unsuitable for less mobile individuals. For example, the restrooms for the dining room were located two flights of stairs below, which is very unusual. It is also unusual that towels and a bathrobe must be rented for 20 euros at the reception, and towels from the room were not allowed to be taken. The seating in the lounge was far too limited, forcing guests to sit in the dining room. The spacing between the tables was extremely tight, which, in my opinion, is not permitted from a fire safety perspective. My room (for one person, with a 40 euro surcharge for a nicer room) was outdated, with no comfortable chair, of course no minibar, and the bathroom was so cramped (about 5 square meters) that the door hit the toilet. The sink had barely enough space for my toothbrush and day cream; the rest had to be placed on the toilet shelf. The swimming pool was okay, but there were far too few loungers. The entrance area is extremely steep, so I had to haul my oldest sister's suitcase up. There is also no ramp to bring luggage into the hotel. Overall, I would rate this a 1, which is still too much, but unfortunately, a 0 is not an option.
