Cute little place to stay

I stayed in this hotel because accommodations were not available for that night in Bamberg (I booked a few weeks in advance). Though Ebelsbach was not originally on the travel roster, staying at this hotel was a pleasant experience. The owner greeted us outside the door of the hotel, and asked us many times during our stay if everything was satisfactory. Breakfast was included: cold cuts, cheeses, cereal, boiled eggs, coffee, tea, fruit, and rolls. The room was a comfortable size, everything was clean, and parking was available for no charge. The bathroom door is a frosty glass, which I found somewhat awkward, but okay.

Preschool aged child guests forced to pay for a separate bed rather than being allowed to sleep with their parents

We arrived at the accommodation and it said 80 Euro for a double bed. I called their number and a lady answered. I asked if they had availability for 2 adults and 1 child (4 year old who sleeps with her parents) to sleep in a double bed. The first question they asked was whether we wanted breakfast, but we didn't need it. Then they quoted me 100 euro for a triple room only if I paid cash, because they charge 80 euro for a double room but then they charge an extra 20 euro for a 4 year old child even though the child would be sleeping in the same bed with their parents, and even though they would only accept cash for that deal.
Meanwhile they still had a double bed available advertised on booking.com for two adults at the same time when I got the quote over the phone, so I knew they had a double bed available and were trying to leech an extra 20 Euro to enforce a third bed requirement for a child.
Even if you make a booking you have to wait 15 min outside in the cold if you want to check-in at 7:30pm on a weekday for them.
Meanwhile Ibis Budget Bamberg in town allows kids to stay for free since they consider children adults only once they're 12 years or older. At Ibis Budget Bamberg they had a triple bedroom for only 72.45 euro, plus an extra 7 Euro for 24 hour parking.

very good value for money

We stopped here for a night because the location is perfect, just 1 mile off the motorway. Our room was quite spacious and had a modern look. It was nice to have a sitting area too that worked as a desk. Our friendly hosts had time for a chat. When we had problems with our gadgets to connect to WiFi the landlord went out of his way to help us and got it all set up.
The bells of the church just opposite were ringing when we arrived and we were warned that they might disturb us but we didn’t hear them until 7 am and then dropped off to sleep again. We had a good time in the beer garden that belongs to the hotel. We ordered wine and food from their menu and it was nice that we didn’t have to go anywhere else for a meal. Later we had a big delicious ice cream in the café just across the street. The breakfast was also satisfying and we think the Klosterhof offers excellent value for money.

Brilliant German Hospitality

Went there looking for a good hotel and found an extraordinary place!
The owner is a very kind person and outside there's a fine biergarten where You can drink all the weissbier You want and eat some Bavarian specialities.

Great Hotel for the Value -

This family run hotel was certainly a pleasant surprise after a 10-11 day car holiday. We were given rooms at the top floor (no lift ) Room we were in was just recently redone and was a pleasure to stay in. Breakfast was included in the price of the stay and was your typical breakfast/ lodging meal. Bread rools, hard cooked eggs, some lunch type meats and cheese. Also a small variety of cereal and of course coffee, tea, milk and juice. There are 2 grocery stores and a petro station nearby. Nothing in the way of restaurants unless you go back into Bamberg which is very close by. Once again great stay for the money and very pleasant owner.
