1x and never again

The Booking Referral at the hotel was done by my colleague by email, already about 4 months before arrival and ran without any problems, with the note that the hotel room is paid cash, which we were also confirmed.
By email I received room number and a link to the late check in. So far so good.
I had booked a single room for 2 nights.
On the day of arrival at 10.30 pm, I wanted to use the Late Check In after 6 hours of arrival, which is however the biggest disaster I have ever seen. You are facing a kind of "ATM" where a QR code is to be scanned, but it does not work. Then there was an info at the front door where does it say, if the technology does not work, a manual QR code should scan, which also does not work and only Error 404 appears. After testing a few times, I tried to reach them by phone at the hotel's emergency number, but nobody answered the phone, so I use the emergency bell. At the other end of the bell a rather annoyed employee from the headquarters of the MK, who pointed out to me to use the vending machine to check in and pay with credit card or Klarna.
However, as I was travelling on business and cash payment was agreed, I travelled without a credit card and Klarna is not used for business. I told the lady at headquarters this, but I only got the answer "no admission without prepayment", which the annoyed employee pointed out again and again. After about 30 minutes of discussion, the still annoyed employee said "I should find another hotel. However, I will be charged for the room I booked because I did not check in." Furthermore, the employee said "I didn't cancel before 6pm, so I have to pay". I stress that I ONLY wanted to check in and not cancel.
After another hint from the staff member that I should look for another hotel, the staff member hung up and pretended to ring the bell again as if she didn't understand me.
I ended up looking for another hotel for these not that I was not allowed to stay in this hotel, which turns out to be quite difficult in Frankfurt at 11 pm.
It was only after threats of legal action that the money for the 1. Night 100% well written.
The 2. Employee who was able to clarify the situation to me personally the next day said to me that the vending machine outside the door is regularly broken and there is a lot of trouble with the employees at the headquarters.
Unfortunately to the guests' regret.
I'll never enter this hotel again and advise anyone else who just intends to stay in this hotel

This was my second time staying at MK. Using Kiosk to check in was still a problem. Key card did not work to enter the facility one time. Everything else was very good. Very good breakfast, spacious room, friendly staffs, proximity to S-Bahn and restaurants.

Concerns About Management and Communication Across MK Hotels

While our direct experience was at MK Hotel London, interactions across MK Hotels—including follow-ups involving management—raise concerns for guests at Eschborn. In London, a major booking error exposed issues with compensation and customer care. Despite attempts to escalate the issue and engaging with Mr. Arno Sonderfeld, part-founder, responses were unprofessional and did not resolve our concerns. Requests for further engagement only resulted in a focus on managing feedback rather than meaningful resolution. This points to brand-wide inconsistencies in transparency and guest satisfaction. Proceed with caution when booking.
