Once again, a wonderful short vacation!
Paradisiacal experience: Pure sunshine, ice cream on the garden terrace, swimming without restrictions, sunbathing next to the indoor pool, relaxing on the balcony, fantastic breakfast!
Very nice, attentive service, pleasant single rooms.

Rather disappointing
Unfortunately disappointing – the claim and the actual performance do not match.
We were guests at the Hotel Siegfriedsbrunnen in Grasellenbach from 08/02/2026 to 08/07/2026. Unfortunately, during our stay, we had the impression several times that the service offered did not correspond to the standards and price range of the establishment.
First, the rooms should be highlighted positively. They were clean, sufficient, and modernly renovated. We were aware before booking that the rooms are not air-conditioned, and therefore this is expressly not a point of criticism.
On the other hand, the dinner offered as a buffet was already disappointing. The homepage advertises "fabulous enjoyment," "culinary variety," and "culinary delights." Unfortunately, we could not find this standard reflected in the dinner. Our impression was rather that of an ordinary buffet without any special culinary highlights. We see a clear discrepancy here between the promotional presentation and what was actually experienced.
At breakfast, too, we felt the service did not fit a hotel of this price range. In the outdoor area or on the terrace of the breakfast room, the tables were not set during the height of summer, nor were plates, cups, and cutlery available in the immediate vicinity. The necessary utensils had to be fetched by the guests themselves over long distances and partly over tripping hazards before one could line up at the breakfast buffet. For us, it is part of the basic service in this price range that a breakfast area is prepared accordingly and the tables are set.
The handling of the swimming pool's outdoor area was particularly disappointing for us. The facility itself is quite attractive due to the large trees and the available shade. The homepage also explicitly advertises "fixed loungers on the lawn" that are available to hotel guests.
On-site, however, we had to realize that the loungers were not simply ready for use. Instead, guests were expected to fetch a lounger from a shed themselves and assemble it independently. The loungers are heavy and, in our view, the assembly is by no means uncomplicated. Especially for older guests or people with physical limitations, this can represent a significant hurdle.
Since we could not manage the carrying and assembly ourselves, we asked for assistance at the reception. We were promised help. However, a service employee only appeared after more than 20 minutes. She also clearly had difficulty transporting and assembling the heavy lounger.
For us, this procedure does not correspond to the understanding of service that we expect at a hotel in this price range. Above all, we got the impression that tasks that should, in our view, be part of normal hotel service are being shifted onto the guests.
The employees working in service as well as the trainees were friendly and eager to help. However, in our view, they could not compensate for the existing organizational and service-related deficits.
Our conclusion: Unfortunately, for us, the price, expectations, and actual experience were not in a reasonable proportion. However, in the areas of gastronomy, organization, and service, we expected significantly more professionalism, quality, and hospitality.
We view the discrepancy between the services described on the homepage and what we actually found on-site as particularly critical.
For us, the stay was therefore a disappointment overall.

Hotel with excellent cuisine and friendly staff
The two swimming pools (indoor and outdoor) are very well maintained, but one should not expect thermal water. Ideal in the summer.
The outdoor pool with saltwater is beautifully situated and is very large.
The buffet is excellent, varied, and plentiful. The extra bargain was also pleasant: Afternoon snack with coffee, etc.
One can only praise the cuisine in the highest terms.
The hotel has atmosphere, fitting for the Nibelungen saga: everything furnished in a giant and valkyrie-like style, massive seating, heavy bathrobes. But one feels comfortable, the staff is friendly.
The single rooms are quite cramped, but the bed and mattress are very good.
Cleanliness top-notch.
Parking right outside the door, that is convenient.
Downside: only conditionally suitable for disabled people in wheelchairs, likely due to the building structure.

A really successful holiday, with a lot of relaxation. We will come back of course.
The hotel is very nicely located, ideal for hikers. Around the hotel there are many hiking trails of any length available.
Breakfast has been very good, the selection as well. There was even sparkling wine on Sundays.
The dinner was awesome, very large selection of fresh vegetables, salad as well as fish and meat. Dessert has also been very good.
The whole staff is very friendly and helpful.
The spa area is very nice, there is a sauna for everyone. There is also an indoor pool, and in summer there is a very large outdoor pool.
Breakfast has been very good, the selection as well. There was even sparkling wine on Sundays.
The dinner was awesome, very large selection of fresh vegetables, salad as well as fish and meat. Dessert has also been very good.
The whole staff is very friendly and helpful.
The spa area is very nice, there is a sauna for everyone. There is also an indoor pool, and in summer there is a very large outdoor pool.

Too short a visit to Grasellenbach!!
The Hotel Siegfriedbrunnen seems to be the main hotel in the beautiful German village of Grasellenbach. It is a lovely, comfortable hotel, with excellent facilities including a fine restaurant (for indoor and outdoor dining) and a swimming pool. All of the staff, especially the lady who was the main waitress at breakfast, were wonderful. We will return as soon as we can!!
