Really nice!

Wonderfully lived in an old house! The rooms are nicely decorated, the breakfast delicious and the staff nice and friendly. Value for money is right and we would love to come back. Thanks to the team

Happy Christmas party

We had a great evening at the Eulkretscham in Zittau on the occasion of our Christmas party. The food was super delicious and the booze tasting was also a real highlight!
The service was also excellent – very friendly, attentive and all-round pleasant.
Always recommended!!!

Authentic Germany Food in an Old Restaurant in Historic Herrnhut (East of Dresden)

This review is about the Restaurant (not the hotel) of Eulkretscham. It is about an hour's drive SE of Dresden, 1.5km outsideHerrnhut near the eastern border of Germany, close to Poland & Czech Republic. It is in a restored building old with Hotel & Biergarden (the bar was previously a hore stable) Following a day outing to historic Herrnhut from Dresden, we looked for an a good restaurant with authentic German food and were not disapointed. This restaurant has been in this 2nd location restored since 1992. But the original one was further into the forest and began in 1529! (yes, 500+ years). The hotel & bar were added more recently. The restaurant staff were very friendly and efficient; the current owner's daughter spoke good english and explained the history. We ordered wild meats, venison, boar; also the usual schnitzel plus halibut. The food came with red cabbage, saukraut, mashed or boiled potatoes with salads. Together with wine, this was our best meal in Germany. The restaurant is in a forest setting 1.5 km outside the humble setting of Herrnhut village, which in itself is fulll of history of the Moravian Movement by German Zinzendorf. We confess the place is hard to get to. The recommended dish - wild venison & chardonnay.

Sehr viel Luft nach oben

Der erste Eindruck ist entscheidend. Aber auch der zweite Eindruck ist nicht zu unterschätzen. Aber egal welchen wir in unserem Fall auch betrachten, bleibt das Ergebnis gleich. Hier ist alles mangelhaft. Wir wurden durch eine unverschämte Person empfangen. Egal ob Eigentümer oder Angestellte - so behandelt man nicht seine Gäste. Aber auch die anderen Mitarbeiter waren nicht besser. Wir wurden eher geduldet, als empfangen. Emphatisch ist hier ein Fremdwort. Wenn man sich nicht für diesen Beruf berufen fühlt, sollte man es besser lassen. So unsere Empfehlung. Das Hotel selber ist einfach aber sauber. Die Straße ist der Hammer. Hier fegen die Fahrzeuge vorbei. Entsprechend laut ist es.
