We had a comfortable 3-night stay at the Maritim Hotel. The hotel is in a convenient location close to the sea and the forest, which is perfect for anyone interested in early morning walks and swimming. We traveled with our 4-year-old son, and the family room was spacious enough for us, complete with a balcony. However, it would have been better if the balcony and its furniture were cleaner. The only downside was the lack of a fitness room, which we felt should be easy to add given how spacious the hotel is.

Nice place to stay

We had booked a single night on the way home from France in this hotel for 2 adults and 2 children.
The hotel is over 100 years old and has plenty of history, but is clean and well-maintained. The staff was friendly and welcoming and spoke pretty good English.
We reached a walk in the hotel pool before dinner, so the kids could play a little after a full day in a car.
We got a free room upgrade to a junior suite with sea view, it gives almost a 6th star, for it was a fantastic room.
Good restaurant both dinner and breakfast buffet.
I have nothing negative to add, so it must give a clean 5's.

Det glæder os, at De kunne nyde vores poolfaciliteter og den gratis opgradering til en juniorsuite med havudsigt. Vi stræber efter at tilbyde vores gæster en unik oplevelse, og det er dejligt at vide, at De fandt værelset fantastisk.
Vores hotel har en rig historie, da det blev grundlagt for over 170 år siden, og vi er glade for, at De kunne mærke den charme, som vores bygning og vores service udstråler. Vi værdsætter også Deres ros til vores personale og vores restaurant.

Maritim Hotel Bellevue Kiel sits right on the water, and from the balcony you get a front-row seat to ferries and sailboats drifting across the fjord — a view that’s worth the stay on its own.
But what really won me over was the interior. The seventies maritime aesthetic isn’t something you stumble across much anymore, and that’s exactly what made it so wonderfully welcome — dark wood veneer, brass details, patterned carpets, striped upholstery. It felt like stepping onto a beautifully preserved ocean liner from another era. Rather than feeling dated, it read as genuinely characterful: warm, nostalgic, and refreshingly exotic compared to the sea of identical minimalist hotels everywhere else.
If you’re after something with real personality instead of another beige, glass-and-concrete box, this is it. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

A successful premiere - the stay at the Maritim Bellevue in Kiel.

The arrangement for Kiel Week was excellent! Starting with the menu on the arrival day with a champagne welcome on the restaurant terrace, the ride on the paddle steamer Freya with wonderful full service!
The location of the hotel is outstanding - the view from the restaurant terrace is unique! The day ends particularly beautifully with a good espresso!
The included cod dish, the ferry tickets to Laboe, as well as the entrance tickets for the memorial and the submarine were included in the arrangement!
We would love to come back - and take a room with a view of the fjord again! Watching ships and sailboats is so relaxing!
We enjoyed everything and also thank the entire team of the house for the great service!
A very small suggestion for improvement:
for us older guests, a grab bar in the bathtub would be extremely helpful! Due to the risk of slipping!
