Comfortable and friendly hotel

Spent Christmas here... Great room, comfortable, with large bed... Hot water problem on first day soon sorted out. Staff were very friendly and really tried hard to please everyone. Food was very good and waiting staff did whatever they could to add to the pleasant atmosphere. Nice and quiet spot with small river running beside hotel which was great for falling asleep to. Great balcony with views of the village and beyond.

Heavily infested with bed bugs!

The room given to my children was heavily infested with bedbugs. The bedsheet looked like it was sprayed with blood stains. Not an inch on my son's arms and feet were left.
Seeing this, the receptionist gave us a 5 euro discount on breakfast meal and changed the rooms. We spent the next night in misery and disgust as we couldn't get booking elsewhere at such short notice. The pictures say it all!

clean decent Hotel with a tendency to cheesy

The Hotel is located at the entrance to Lauterbach - a tiny village near Schramberg. The village is rather small and I am not aware of anything to do or see in the town itself. The good news is, that the through street is not much travelled and the town is pretty quiet (at least was during our stay).
The Hotel and rooms were clean and the WIFI worked excellent anywhere in the house. Shower water is hot with good pressure (certainly something that can be disappointing in some Hotels.
Make sure not to get rooms 30 or 21 (maybe also the same rooms a floor below, I'm guessing 20 and 11 - not sure though), they are way smaller in size with a storeroom feeling.
Décor is a bit on the cheesy side, but everything is well maintained and works and I slept well in the fairytale-like bed.
I did not have breakfast at the Hotel and judging from what I saw in the morning it is not worth spending an extra 10 Euro for it. Better to drive to a Cafe in Schramberg or Hornberg for breakfast. There even is a tiny bakery/cafe in Lauterbach for that matter.
All in all the place for sure has seen better days, but the staff keeps it tidy. The value for money is ok and the Hotel makes a good base for day trips in the Black Forest.

Worst gym I have ever encountered

I booked this holiday with Leger holidays. The Tannenhof hotel in Schwarzwald, Germany, in their brochure which I picked up whilst at the hotel, the exact wording states: Our gym provides with the most up to date equipment. It was the worst example of a gym I had ever encountered having visited hundreds of gyms all over the world as well as owning my own gyms. Not only was there hardly any equipment, what was available was in such a terrible state with bits missing and the multi gym was too dangerous to use.

Superb

It is a lovely place; definitely worth visiting. We had a great stay and would highly recommend the hotel! Great location, excellent service and beautiful rooms! Delicious food at a fair price, and the best part, you can actually have fun.
