Great accommodation with very friendly staff and good facilities.

Highly recommended. We will definitely come back. Super friendly staff. Clean rooms, super adequate breakfast with delicious coffee:)
Very good location, right at the stop. Very commendable is the parking lot with barriers. Really great, you rarely have.
Thank you so much for the small champagne bottle for my birthday at the breakfast table.

OK for a stopover

Clean rooms, the beds are fine, practically the additional next room who travels as a threesome. The hotel is suitable for a stopover in transit, also thanks to the protected parking. Otherwise, the hotel does not exude charm.

Room with window to parking, so the tram did not matter, in-house parking
clean, functional, modern room, just the shower enclosure a bit unclean

So much dirt and problems - never again!

We have stayed in this hotel several times and have always been satisfied. But the last stay was more than disappointing. The fact that the receptionist came across as relatively impersonal is perhaps a matter of perception. In any case, she did not give the feeling of being welcome as a guest.
We had booked an apartment for 1 night for 3 people, according to the description 1 double bed and 1 sofa bed. However, there was no indication that the "double bed" was only 1.40 m wide! The term "double bed" is misleading here. If this had been pointed out in advance in the description of the room furnishings, we certainly would not have booked it. A conversation with the receptionist did not clarify anything, only the mantra-like repetition: "We did nothing wrong." Apparently all the other rooms were fully booked.
It was so narrow in this room that an adult person could not even stand on one side of the bed! Only 1 bedside table, only a reading lamp. After a while we were offered the "solution" of setting up a folding bed. Where else it should have been, however, was not stated.
In the anteroom (belonged to the booked apartment) the motion detector or the lamp was broken, so it remained dark.
We were also greeted with towels that could only be described as scrubbing rags at best. (see photos) Torn hooks, frayed edges, threadbare holes.
In the bathroom, disgusting dirt jumped out at us in the shower (see photos), the sink was about to clog. The water only drained away in slow motion.
All in all, unacceptable and we will definitely look for other accommodation next time.

Good budget hotel, on the outskirts of Rostock.

Hotel Citymaxx is located 15 minutes on foot (depending on pace) from the Rostock pedestrian street. Otherwise 3 stops by tram. The immediate area itself is light industry/car dealers/residential.
The hotel is somewhat worn, but clean and nice. Bed linen is clean. There are clean towels in the room upon arrival. There is a separate toilet/bath. The windows keep out most of the noise from the trams.
The breakfast has a reasonable price/yield.
In short, a cheap night's stay, with free parking, which you leave alive. Not bad.
If you come from Zealand, it is a 10-15 minute drive to/from the ferry.
