Good service and solid German hospitality
We had chosen the Waldschlösschen as a stopover on our journey through Northern Germany, but we initially could not find it because the car's navigation system and Google Maps on the smartphone suggested different routes. When we arrived there, we were surprised that the Waldschlösschen was actually a bit larger than the name suggested. We found a conference hotel with many rooms and extensive dining facilities set up for various events.
Upon our arrival, we were greeted very warmly and received room 179 in the basement of the annex building. It did not seem very old, as everything still smelled somewhat new. Our room was designed with modern particle board elements in a box shape and had a vinyl floor covered with small rugs. The two beds were quite narrow but comfortable, and the quality of sleep was very good due to the location facing the garden. The small desk with a minibar – which contained a chilled bottle of sparkling water – was partially occupied by a coffee maker, but it had good lighting and outlets. The Wi-Fi was password-protected and had an average bandwidth. In a speed test, I achieved a download speed of 29,500 kbit/s and an upload speed of 28,087 kbit/s. However, this was more than sufficient for sending emails. In front of our room was a small terrace with a small table and two chairs along with a sun umbrella, which was perfect for an afternoon coffee.
In the design of the small bathroom with a corner shower, the interior designers certainly considered the needs of disabled and older hotel guests, as there was a folding seat in the shower, grab bars on the walls, and the toilet had a raised seat.
The LG television, which was mounted on the wall opposite the beds, was somewhat small with its 37-inch screen, and the storage space in the wardrobe was also limited. Especially the shelves were so short that no shirts could fit in them.
We were very satisfied with the dining experience, as the tables in the Olearius restaurant were nicely set for dinner, and the service was very friendly and person-oriented. However, there must have been a lot of business that evening, and the kitchen was overwhelmed, as we had to wait more than an hour for our main course.
The breakfast buffet the next morning was excellent and left hardly any wishes unfulfilled. After that, we took a walk through the garden area for the first time and discovered the magnificent sauna landscape. This awakened in us the desire to definitely come back here and treat ourselves to a longer break.

Wellness is so much said
The room was ok, the restaurant was top class, super delicious food and service.
We came for wellness, and had not seen ourselves properly for, saunas open only at 16:00, until then there is only access to the swimming pool and hot tub, so there was not much time for wellness when you also have to get to eat.
On the website it appeared that massage and body treatments were offered, but when we arrived, we could see, in the brochure, that you could also get facial and nail treatments, all days of the week. But the day we tried to book time was not possible Thursday when the therapist was free, it was a disappointment.
It also did not appear from the website that the hotel was undergoing renovation and that this started every day at 7:30 p.m., but therefore there were banks.
So if you're looking for a spa stay, we can't recommend this hotel.

Food, cleanliness, friendliness, furnishings all very well.
We were traveling with a coach and spent 6 nights with +/- 40 people in the Waldschlösschen with half board.
I always read the negative reports before expressing my opinion. The only thing I can comment on is the way (possibly in a bathrobe) from one building to another. Yes, that is indeed the case but this passage is covered. You can’t really get wet through and through but it takes a little overcoming to go to the SPA. It's worth it, though. The wellness area is very well furnished with swimming pool and several saunas. Everything is kept clean regularly. There is also the possibility to use a separate ladies sauna.
Regarding food, I have to explain that the tour operator could probably negotiate a special price (it was also the dead season). That's why (except on the last evening) there were simpler dishes than specialties. Taste-wise everything was very good and there was always the possibility to eat fish. The breakfast buffet was fantastic though.
As for the kindness of the staff, I can only praise them. I then also communicated this by email : "We would like to thank the entire staff for their loving welcome.
In particular, I thank the kitchen and service staff for taking my lactose intolerance into account and not making it a problem. The discretion was also exemplary."
The prices were adjusted to the standing. But where is it still cheap today? Quality comes at a price.

Unique wellness hotel
We were there in September 5 days with dog and were warmly welcomed with a delicious prosecco. Everything was to our absolute satisfaction. The food was very tasty. The price included a tasty snack at lunchtime and in the wellness area there were wonderful cakes and desserts every day just as free with booked half board. The wellness area leaves nothing to be desired. Everything is extremely well maintained and the service is excellent in all areas. For us, MOSELSCHLÖSCHEN is our new insider tip to relax.
We have already booked again as we think the value for money is great. We are already looking forward to our time together there.
