Great hotel for a nice meal and comfortable stay!

We arrived late after a long drive; the staff were friendly and accommodating. Although we had not booked a table at the (rather busy - a good sign) restaurant, they accommodated us for an evening of great ambience and good food.
The rooms were immaculate and functional, no complaints here whatsoever.
Would recommend!

Ideal base to visit Saarland

Hotel Laux is located in the hamlet of Weiler. It is an ideal hotel if you are passing through or for a short stay in Saarland. In the vicinity you have the Saarschleife and the municipality of Mettlach where Villeroy & Boch is home.
The family apartment consists of 1 bathroom, 2 single rooms and 1 triple room. Everything is neatly taken care of. The mattresses are a bit hard and the pillows rather flat.
In the evening, half board includes a dinner consisting of soup, bread, sometimes a small salad, a main course and dessert. The first day we did get an aperitif. The food was delicious and the portions were big enough.
The breakfast buffet is extensive. Choice too over for a solid start to the day. Different types of bread, spreads, cereals,... You can always ask for scrambled eggs or spoz jelly.
This hotel is rated 10 out of 10 for a fun week in Saarland.
From 2 nights you get the Saarland Map. An activity card with more than 100 activities or discounts. Highly recommended!

Well located hotel

Booked this hotel with HP through a hotel agent. Our experience: Owners and slightly older lady are very friendly and customer-oriented. Spacious and nicely maintained room. Rich and catered breakfast buffet. Dinner HP is good but occasionally one drops a stitch including a starter consisting of 2 leaves of lettuce and 3 paper-thin cucumber slices? And the same dessert two days in a row. For us, dinner could be better prepared and tastier. Waiter wasn't so customer-friendly.
Parking is available in the vicinity of the hotel.
Hotel is well located for excursions in the Saarland, Luxembourg or France.

Heart recommendation

We spent our Christmas days here as a family with dog and were more than satisfied. The rooms are clean, ample parking available, the hotel management and also the staff very accommodating and insanely sympathetic. On Christmas Eve, in addition to a fantastic three-course meal, there was even a small gift and everyone sang Christmas carols together. Also on the other days there was simply excellent food (the family unanimously says 10/10 points for this) and even our little Pomsky was always welcome to eat, after we asked briefly on arrival if this was possible. We have absolutely nothing to complain about and will definitely come back. Thanks for really wonderful Christmas days, we felt very comfortable and welcome.:)

Typical basic German Hotel standard

Location: 50/100 Along the road (not busy but certanly not charming)
Rooms: 50/100 very cheap, with cheap furniture and poor taste but a lot of space and comfortable bedsand secondary)
Breakfast: 25/100 Very basic and standard with pre-packaged food.
Parking: 50/100. Available, but quite small.
