Cosy B&B with charm, lovingly decorated, great breakfast, warm hosts – all around feel-good atmosphere!

The B&B with charm. Our room, 2 lovingly furnished cozy rooms consisting of bedroom and living room with breakfast corner and shower room was simply cozy and comfortable.
For breakfast became at the agreed time a breakfast box with a lot of different delicious things. Buns, bread, crisp bread. Various forms of eggs, but also sausage, cheese, jam, yogurt, juice,... and a dessert were also included. It was more than enough.
You could brew coffee or tea in the room, or make yourself a Nespresso in the hallway. There you could also get various drinks.
Also there is a beautiful original garden where you could also enjoy your breakfast (if the weather goes along).
The two owners are very nice and run the B&B with passion.
Overall a successful stay!

Definitely staying here!

What a wonderful B&B. It already started with the reception by hostess Dionne. You immediately felt warmly welcomed. The room was well worth her name "Desire". The box bed... very special. The faint smile before we were in it but we slept well. And then that breakfast!!!!! Every morning, right at the appointed hour, you got a case of all kinds of goodies. You could make the coffee or tea yourself in your room. In the box; sandwiches, cheese in 2 types, top in 2 types, an egg, fruit, yogurt, granola, fruit juice, milk and then every morning a nice tin boxes containing a different treat every day. So much fun!
A quiet area to stay and yet in the center street.
Highly recommended! Definitely do!

Quite ok

Since it is a converted old forge, the whole house smells very strange. We found it unpleasant. The "Droom" room has a ground-level entrance next to the garden , which in turn could use more care for the garden furniture.
The room is dark, there are only two windows, it doesn't work without light . View of a house wall. Bathroom with shower OK, towels smell musty. The bed is too narrow for two and only one duvet. The mattress is not of good quality, back pain is inevitable.
Breakfast is brought to the room in a box in the morning, with a different treat every morning . You make your own coffee ☕️ in the room. Bicycles can only be parked in front of the house. Three parking spaces for five rooms.
The rooms on the upper floor can only be reached via a steep staircase ‍♂️.
No German television.

If you are looking for a BenB on Texel, De Smederij is the place to be.

What incredibly hospitable and sweet people Dionne and Sander are. I was able to celebrate my birthday in De Smederij. The morning itself I was spoiled with a sweet card, chocolate and tea. Then I really felt like it was my birthday. Many thanks again.
The stay in the Fire room was great. Spacious room, nice shower room. Enough space to store your things. And last but not least, very nicely decorated. You enter the room and immediately feel 'I'm on holiday'.
The breakfast is, in a word, great. It is served in a box (super nice!!) and is rich in breads, cheese, meats, eggs, jam, marmalade, fresh orange juice, fruit and yoghurt. I'm probably forgetting something. And everything fresh, super fresh.

Beautiful and quirky

Absolutely beautiful room and garden! The welcome was incredible, the owners are so nice! The breakfast is gigantic and delicious! It is worth to note that it is located in an old house so rooms are not soundproof. Being a dog friendly establishment, keep in mind that they will hear what is happening around and mind disturb the other guests. We had an amazing week there, comfortable bed and couch, felt like we were at home, a more stylish home!
