Gastrolounge, for an exclusive meal and then good sleep.
Just returned from a weekend with my sister at this hotel, where we had a two-night package with breakfast, a welcome drink and a three-course dinner for €165,-- pp. The food was in one word fantastic!! We enjoyed an exclusive taste experience the first evening and that for a free dinner! The wine advice was very knowledgeable and was brought with great enthusiasm. Also the second evening again delicious eaten with matching wine. Indeed, the rooms are dated but clean and everything works. The beds are really fine! The owner has only been here four months and he told us that the rooms will be refurbished soon.

Nice, cozy and traditional village hotel, very friendly staff, nice breakfast.
The rooms are clean and cozy. Everything is dated but with charm. Nice with windows open can sleep in a nice bed. The breakfast room is cozy, nice retro style. Breakfast is delicious, coffee too and friendly staff.
Recommended we found if this is your style. Don't expect a fancy, modern hotel.

"I'm 14 kilometers away and here's the bright weather!"
This is clearly a hotel in need of a refurbishment: part of the shower cabin is missing and has been replaced provosorically by a curtain, the sink is cracked, the beds are sagging and the cable of the existing kettle is too short to reach the socket (although it has not exploded, that is ok again).
Here € 144.80 for questions is already very doubtful.
But the evening we were present, due to a "catering event" no staff was present. No problem to eat elsewhere, Amon makes fine pizza.:) But then not having the opportunity to sit inside somewhere in the evening, and being sent out to sit there while it rains, is not very welcoming. Certainly not when the immortal words are spoken: "I'm 14 kilometers away, and here's the bright weather!" You would expect a hotel manager to be aware of the concept of weather, but no.
And to make matters worse, when you indicate your dissatisfaction the next morning, they react with a shrug. It would have been told... first of all that is not the case, it was only reported that night that the restaurant is closed and not that we could not sit there at all. And besides, a place where you can sit in the evening is still a minimum requirement for a hotel outfit. You can’t just reduce your service because you’ve taken on a catering job and ask your guests the same for lesser service.
It's ridiculous. 1 star is way too much for this "hotel".

Fire safety poor and no proper handling of refund.
Friendly welcome until an issue arises regarding the fire safety of the summerhouse. It was not fireproof enough as that if you sleep downstairs in the room under the cottage which is accessible by a steep unsafe staircase and gets stuck because there is no emergency exit. Next to the bathroom, which is also only downstairs, is a storage room that cannot be closed and is full of all kinds of old junk where there is also an old dangerous geyser. Fire detector is in all probability not properly linked to the fire detector installation. As a result, we had reported to the manager and he reassured us and understood our issue. Promised to refund the overnight stay and we then left but received nothing so far. Have reached out several times via e-mail and not by telephone , which we have also been told to do because of proof and passing on our bank details but no response. So we have been seriously fooled. So I feel really screwed and not taken seriously. This causes a lot of grief and frustration. So our advice is: do not book with them !!!

Nice hotel in nice Vorden
Recently stayed here 3 nights. 1st day a 3 course dinner, was tasty, also for me as a vegetarian. Since a few months a different owner. Well cared for and nice, knowledgeable and sweet staff. Located relative to Vorden station, very central and also quiet. We enjoyed in our beloved Vorden and made beautiful bike rides, wonderful weather besides.
The rooms, as we already read, somewhat dated, especially the bathroom, but everything worked well. Colorful room. For us fine, even at home a somewhat wider bed, but lay and slept fine. Owner has plans to renew e.a. like to come back sometime to see this!
