Excellent overnight stay near Assen
The breakfast was fine. A few minutes' walk from the rooms. The view from the restaurant was beautiful.

Base for trip to TT Circuit Assen
The Golf lodge itself is apparently in a very “ expensive” property area. The site it self is lovely, with the staff being very helpful and polite. I have to say on our first visit to Holland/ Netherlands the people are just so polite, helpful and nice. Every single one spoke good English which actually puts us to shame. We thought this was just at the lodge, but it was the case everywhere we went over our weekend.
Taxi from the airport...
73€ yep! Didn’t see that coming. From right outside the Gronegan airport terminal to the Golf lodge. It was then about 25€ to Assen station. We either went in town or caught the bus to the track on a local bus marked as “TT Circuit” that was about 5€ for the pair of us one way ( you can’t buy a return, but you can use the same ticket within half an hour)
On reflection the extra money we spent on cabs/ busses we should have spent more on the hotel and been in Assen centre or hired a car.
The Lodge room was basic in a good way. TV tea facilities extra pillows which I needed and my god! Best pillow ever lol. Clean Morden room.
Coffee machine with cups/sugar/milk in foyer for use (free)
Breakfast was continental with breads cheese meats fruits pastry juice tea coffee etc. We were asked if we would like an omelet on arrival and very nice. Ate in the evening, but I will give some advice. The food is fantastic and big. We ordered our food, then a local couple were sharing a meal which we thought was cute, but the size was massive. The burgers we ordered were lovely and .... big! The salad with it was great as well ( and I’m not a salad person) but would have been good enough as a meal in itself. So very pleased with the Golf lodge.
We also caught a train on the way back to the airport. The trains are 100% punctual.
On the down side the other half left her purse on the bus, but tweeting the bus company ( on a weekend) responded by saying they found it. Unfortunately we could not pick it up till Monday, but left Sunday. We have asked the company Qbuzz to post it back with us paying the costs, but not much joy as of yet.
So great Lodge, unless you have your own car/ motorcycle not really practical for the TT. Oh and a long walk to any main road or public transport if any.
