We had an excellent stay for an excellent price and will for sure return. My son enjoyed both the facilities, the boat rides to and from the island and the historic aspect of the island, we both did. And an amazing breakfast

Holder with day trip, accommodation was an overpriced disappointment

Great place to spend the day, but the "hotel", the services and facilities they offer were completely tragic. We pre-ordered 3-course dinner in the restaurant well before departure, which we were notified. The hotel informed no later than 24 hours before arrival that you must remember to reserve in advance if you wanted dinner at the restaurant, so I called to confirm that our reservation was still registered. No problem, until we arrived at the hotel.... then we were informed that our dinner had moved to "Havnekroa", it was no longer 3-retters as ordered, but an ala carte... we went to Havnekroa at the agreed time. This was a Cafe that served only pizza and hamburgers. The serving place next door was also only street cuisine. So much for a great 3-retters we saw for us at the hotel. We met an older couple who had received the same message, and they stood there in the street kitchen with a gift card at the 3-course dinner they had received from children and grandchildren. The rooms were not in any hotel, but in the old command cabins. The price is the same as The Hub in the centre of Oslo. The tubs in the bathroom and in the shower were brown and one did not feel clean after a shower there. The mattresses in the bunk bed were scared and laid down. The accompaniment host had another building to sleep in, they had views right into the mountain on the back despite the fact that 80% of the rooms were available.

Disappointing

Reception is closed at night. Did not find the remote in the room and took this up with the reception several times two days in a row. It was promised that this would be fixed twice, but with no result. We were not allowed to use the TV in the room during the entire stay.
Problems with the door/lock in the room, had to wait almost 2 hours for help. Employees who were in charge of the reception this evening left the island without checking if we were helped to solve the problem and were allowed to get us into the room, even though we were promised this.
The hotel was full booked and we risked way sleeping out, due to lack of access to personal belongings.
Bad service. The room did not look like on photos, worse standard than that presented on the website too.
Okay, standard breakfast.
Disappointing mtp. price vs. service vs. standard.

Overpriced 1 star hotel

Luckily for us we attended a great family event at Oscarsborg Fortress with wonderful food and fantastic service, it made the stay at the idyllic and historic Oskarsborg after all worth the trip. The hotel was not in style with the surroundings, with a nestled and dirty terrace area, dark warm rooms and poor breakfast. In short, poorly carried out. that this hotel is getting through the needle loop of “historic” hotel chains a puzzle, right price by standard 850,- per day.

Horrible, don‘t book a stay here. The worst Service.
