Loving accommodation with warm hostess

We had rented the Casa Limon for three nights. This is a small outhouse with its own small garden, an open kitchen and dining area (including gas stove, fridge and barbecue), a small bedroom and a small bathroom. Everything was lovingly decorated. Very useful were also such things as hammocks and clothes racks. The hostess is incredibly warm and helpful. The house is located in a neighborhood with predominantly local population. And in rural areas of Panama everyone felt dogs and chickens, which unfortunately have different bedtimes than we do. In addition, people also like to party on weekends. Earplugs for the night therefore made sense, but were also ready. Overall, in my view, it is worth putting up with these things, as you get much more of the way of life of the population, as in the “ringo quarters”.

Thank you for your review. I wonder if maybe you were here during Carnival? At that time all of Latin America likes to celebrate. Or maybe it was another holiday time? Other than holidays, or maybe an occasional birthday, the weekends here in my area are quite normal. No parties.

If you like to live primitive this is your place- Beautiful and out in the nature.

If you like to live primitive this is your place- Beautiful and out in the nature. You cant use paper in the toilet and there is not hot water to wash dishes with. 2 days we amazing but then we needed something a bit less primitive- We will recommend you to go and it is not so expensive-

Thank you for your review. El Valle is located inside a volcano crater. As such, the town has no municipal sewer system, so putting toilet paper in the trash is not unique to my property. It is for the whole town. I have 2 casitas, a 1 bedroom and a 2 bedroom, and both have nice hot water for showers and bathroom. Only the 1 bedroom has no hot water in the kitchen sink, but we are in the tropics so the water is often naturally warm on its own. Thanks again for your comments.

Just wonderful!

Everything is simply great! A very lovingly designed facility with stylishly furnished rooms with everything you need! We felt incredibly comfortable! Debra's energy is so warm and friendly and honest, you can feel it everywhere and immediately feel relaxed, let go of all stress and enjoy the hammock with a view of the mountain. Wonderful! Thank you!

A wonderful oasis and good starting point for various hikes

Nice house with all the amenities you need. Kitchen was outside, very nice. Nice garden where birds, butterflies and a coati could be spotted. Host was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Came with good tips and when the power went out (something that happens often in Panama) she was very proactive.
We took beautiful walks and took a lovely cooling bath at the waterfall.

Thank you for your review. An update: The electricity has improved a lot in El Valle. Now if the power goes off it usually comes back in 5-10 minutes.

A cooler experience

Great location with lots of vegetation and a mountain right beside you. And the trailhead to walk up the mountain is only a couple hundred feet away. If you're a birder, you'll see lots of species right from the chair in the yard.
We had the one-bedroom unit and it was quite comfy with a private backyard that is so peaceful and relaxing. The kitchen is open-air and a delight to cook in. Debra has provided everything you'll need to cook (except the food of course).
Debra is a great host and responds immediately to any issues as she lives on property. When we departed, we felt like we'd made a friend.
At this higher altitude, the nights are cool enough that you'll need a sweater when you go out.
