Rockrivers was super convenient located steps from the train, near lots of restaurants and places to go and see. The staff was great and the breakfast buffet was delicious.

Rockrivers was not a great place to stay. There are no elevators, we climbed 5 flights of stairs. There is no hot water for showers, and there were dead bugs and mosquitos all over our room. Find somewhere else to stay!

There isn't a lift. Would have been good if it was mentioned before cause we had two 23kg suitcases which we had to carry up to the 5th floor. Also had I known there isn't a lift prior I would have mentioned it to the hotel that we re travelling with heavy suitcases and requested for a lower floor

This, by far, was the noisiest hotel I’ve stayed at. Chairs scraping on hard floors, every footstep on the open staircase, loud music, carrying voices, slamming doors. Just the worst.
The room did not in the slightest look like the pictures. It was a stuffy, tiny room with no window to outside; rather, it opened to some kind of shaft that allowed no fresh air.
I paid about US$90/night, which is a little higher than other local hotels.
On the bright side, the restaurant was excellent and the staff were friendly.
I would not recommend this property and regret my choice to stay here.

Overall the property was great and I would definitely stay here again when I return to Machu Picchu. I was really happy with this hotel.
The room was clean and beds were very comfortable. Not many amenities provided but this is understandable being we are in the mountains. Staff was very nice and helpful. The front desk was not staffed the hours I walked by, but the restaurant staff could handle double duty if needed. They did meet me at the train station and escort me to the hotel. Which we above and beyond. As for the surroundings. There were plenty of restaurants and bars near by, lots of shopping and scenic tours you can do. This was a great hotel, I do recommend!
