Wonderful I will be back!!
The girls team at the camp and surf shop were incredibly friendly and welcoming, makes my stayed feeling like home.
Nuno booked me surf lesson, and it was fantastic, Brand new wetsuits and surfboards with professional and relax surf instructors. All the beginners surfer in my group had a lot of fun.
ESC location is perfect, walking distance to Restaurants, Shops, ATM, Hair salon and beaches. And thanks to Xana/Alex for the airport transfer.

overprized surflesson
never had such a bad experience as with ESC. The shop and the people in the shop look very nice and friendly and I thought this must be a cool place to stay..
For a single lesson you pay 45€ (!!!) - everything is included.. so it seems.
Luckily it wasn't me first surflesson ever.. cause honestly I think ESC would have destroyed my dream to learn it. There was no such thing as a introduction.. tiny warmup in the beginning and then directly off in the water. No explanation about how to stand up and the promoted "you get good advice from the staff" was not existing. She only pushes you in to the wave and tells you to look at the beach. And then you have to line until she pushes you the next time. We were 5 in a group.. so a lot of waiting.
A school which is clearly overrated, not personal at all and overprized.

Wonderful place
They made sure we had the same instructor in all of the classes, Loui. We liked him a lot and we did feel that we made some progress during the week we stayed.
The hostel is located right at the city centre, which was perfect for us.
We honestly loved the vibe so much that we are considering going back next year :)

Surf Trip
The surf instructors are brilliant, and very knowledgeable, helping guide you each step of the way. Can't wait to come back with the kids

Good town, great people, poor surf camp
The bad = very unorganised, rude (unnecessarily so), and very poor or almost non-existent surf instructing. Nuno was helpful at replying over email before arrival, but was rude in person, refused to acknowledge he had mistaken which surf lesson we’d signed up for, was condescending about board choice etc - all very odd. Luis was a good surf instructor in the water - but Nuno and fellow guides were not, and mostly just talked to each other in Portuguese. It was frustrating as it felt the lessons were somewhat wasted, especially given the money paid. Accommodation was OK.
Don't usually bother writing reviews, but there is SO much choice of surf camps in Ericeira - so pick wisely!
