Fantastic relaxed hotel in impressive surroundings
A fantastic and comfortable hotel in a beautiful place. Beautiful surroundings, pure nature! For birdwatchers an ideal place I think. Permanent song of the birds
From the room wee had a magnificent view over Lake Alqueva. As well as from the dining/breakfast room. Impressive! Nice also the terrace near the room.
A very good breakfast! Also nice that we could ban the mbt bikes of the hotel (free) use. Nice bike ride to Luz and then to Mourao.

Relaxing and bird watching in the Alentejo
We have just spent a most enjoyable 3 days here. The room was well appointed and enjoyed the wonderful view of the lake towards Monsaraz. Breakfast included a superb array of fresh fruits and pastries. The dinner menu was well balanced and the Pork Secretos was the best I have eaten in Portugal. We are keen bird watchers and photographers and counted over 30 species of birds viewed from outside our room and walking the attached fields.
All the staff attended us efficiently and politely, and on the basis of all my comments have already decided to return next May

Not for couples. Beautiful views, nice design, good value.
The room (Alqueva view) is large with great layout. Waking up to views of the Alqueva and Monsaraz is unmateched. There are two 'lounge areas' one inside, one outside'. Perhaps the inside one could be replaced with stools/chairs for the desk set up?
As for cleanliness, there really should be greater attention to detail - we requested our windows to be cleaned on arrival, as there were markings of heads and fingers on them. Be prepared for goose poop to be on your terrace early in the morning as the hotel employs a flock of geese to maintain the grass area outside your room (also, be prepared for some invasion of privacy by curious guests who want to check out other rooms.
Atmosphere was so-so: some three families, each with a child under three, each side screeching each time it didn't get its way, took over all the public spaces: breakfast room, swimming pool, living room. It became difficult to find a non-screeching area outside of the bedroom. If the hotel is being marketed to multi generational families couples should be discouraged from booking. We ended up going ou day trips every day, not enjoying the pool as much as we would have wanted, given the discomfort of the noise.
Staff was polite but with minimal training - it's difficult to find workers for the industry, but some better training would perhaps lead to happier staff. Most seemed 'grumpy' or blasé (reception and breakfast).
The location is very central to exploring this area of Alentejo: Monsaraz, Mourão, Aldeia da Luz, S. Pedro do Corval, Jerez de los Caballeros, the monument to Humberto Delgado.
Finally, we brought our own tea and coffee making set up, which made for some lovely 'sunset' hours watching the lake. (the rooms face north so you don't see direct sunset)
Overall, good value for a booking in high season. But I'll think twice before coming back.

Great place to rest
I stayed one night from Saturday to last Sunday. It is a great place to rest, catch the sun and take some dive, in the pool or in the river beaches of the region, even the hotel itself. Very spacious room and with everything needed. Attentive staff, especially one of the employees of the bar/restaurant who did not fix the name but has a horse tail. I had a reservation for dinner on Saturday but for health reasons I had to cancel. This collaborator immediately provided the area of the bar to serve us a tea and a toast, which was made with great professionalism. Good luck to this professional.
Only hurt for not providing charging of electric vehicles, because with so much space available to place panels, it would be a plus value for the customer
